Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction would be an interesting TAS. It's my favorite shooter game ever. If you captured just a few people alive, then it would be enough intel to get the Ace missions. [EDIT by Bisqwit: Moved post and its reply out from a thread they didn't belong to.]

I say the jacks, they generlly have less defenses than the other face cards, and you need to ge all 10 number cards to get enough intel to get to the ace.

Are you sure? I'm looking for a guide that says what % of the intel for Aces each card gives you. I think this run should be near-pacifist. There should be no killing for fun. However, there can be frivolous deaths if they are a result of what I call "Straight-line fighting". That's where you get in the fastest vehicle as fast as possible, and go in a straight line to your objective. Don't go out of your way to kill enemies, but don't avoid them either. If you run them over, too bad! [Edit by Bisqwit: Moved this post too. Please, don't derail topics.]

So, you mean driving between between fighting factions, (not running into north koreans?)

No, not necessarily, it's not going out of the way to avoid or hit people.

I've been thinking more about TASing this game. Rridgway is something of an expert at this game, and has found an odd glitch. If you put someone in a helicopter and shoot down the helicopter as you collect intel, you can get the intel twice. Also, if you sharply turn a Sungri Scout and hit something it goes flying, which could be used to get over obstacles in a TAS. Rrigdway will attempt an unassisted, single-segment speedrun sometime next week.
