It just hit my mind while surfing around the net. Have you guys heard Yngwie Malmsteen's Far beyond the sun? Doesn't that sound very much like the music in the mansions in Castle vania 2: Simons quest? Who stole it from who? =)

Also, listen to REM's All the Right Friends, then to Elecman's theme. Same melody, same key, same progression..
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

I've also heard ElecMan's song compared to Simply the Best. I think there are lots of songs out there that sound like ElecMan.

http://www.doomworld.com/linguica/doomcovers/ The Alice in Chains rips are obvious, as well as a few others... some you'll have to decide for yourself, though.

Thanks for that link. I had known about Pantera's "Mouth for War," but most of the others were new. Anybody have links for these other songs?

I don't think we're allowed to share links to the songs. But you can easily find songs on DC or emule.

I know I've heard a couple of other tracks as well. Just can't think of what artists made them. Can't think of the games either. I just know I've heard more. This turned out to be a pretty funny thread. Keep posting! =)

Yeah, but I'm at college now and they're real strict about that shit. Well, I'll make a note of these titles.

Dimmu Borgir has a song called Sorgens Kammer which is an exact copy of the intro of a game called Agony for Amiga. Also a Finnish band called Silentium ripped off the theme music of a small (but well-known here in Finland) game called Wings. I personally don't mind the Dimmu Borgir version as it's much better than the original but Silentium completely ruined that song by adding vocals and other unnecessary stuff. Don't get me wrong, of course it's wrong to copy someone else's work without giving them credit even if the result is good. EDIT: Oh and in case anyone is interested, the name of that Silentium song is Forever Sleep. The original Wings song goes by the name of JANUSKI.S3M.
