I think he means that playing a movie deletes the game's save file, since it will only sync up with an empty save (or whatever saved info it started with, if it uses SRAM). I'm pretty sure the only cure for that is to make a backup, unless there's a new version that does that for you...

I'm stuck at those pots where I'm trying to get the pegasus seeds. This game just will not cooperate with me. Do you know of any other alternative besides getting them from those pots in case I can't do it.

Those pots or maybe those in the beginning... Not sure. Another way would be if you could manipulate seeds from the snow before you go the subrosian world, but then you need to remake that part (If not a hex edit is possible, which I doubt.) Perhaps the bushes at the holes on your way back? Hmm.

I'm taking over for the Oracle of Ages run. I PM'd Vespa the other day and he was fine with it. Instead of continuing from where he left off, I'm redoing it. I'm about halfway through the Maku Road (past) and am (I think) 5 frames ahead so far. Not that much, but what Vespa had done was very optimised, so yeah. I'll post a WIP when I get to the first dungeon.

Awesome! :D I belive I have the fastest overworld/dungeon routes listed here: http://www.savefile.com/files/742126 In case you weren't able to find it yourself... But be sure to test a few things, I belive there's something mentioned in the routes, not sure... Good luck with this, manipulation is bitchy. I'm looking forward to the WIP!

After watching the Link's Awakening run, I was eager for more 2D zelda action. This may indeed quench my thirst. Looking forward to seeing your progress, SwordlessLink. I wonder if there are any exploitable pit-glitches to be found in this game. Good luck.

GODAMMIT. Fucking stalfos. You know the room in Maku Road (Past) where there's a switch in a series of blocks? I got that perfectly optimised and guess what? The stalfos in the next room were in HORRIBLE positions. So I redid the previous room, getting it a frame slower. They were STILL in bad positions. I've tried about 6 different frames for entering the next room to no avail. God dammit.

I tried to TAS OoS awhile ago... I gave up very quickly when I realized how annoying the manipulation was :/. I hope you won't. I could at least try to manipulate it myself to see if I can find a good solution.

WIP ready. I'm in the first dungeon. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/5668/Legend%20of%20Zelda%2C%20The%20-%20Oracle%20of%20Ages%20%28U%29%20%5BC%5D%5B%21%5D.vbm Overall, I'm 31 frames ahead of Vespa. I lost some frames with the stalfos, but they just wouldn't manipulate to a better position, so I did the best with what I had. And besides, the fantastic manipulation I got with the gels a little earlier made up for it. The amount of frames gained there was greater than the amount lost by the stalfos. In the first room with the pits, I skipped the block, and just fell in the pit to get back to the door. This was 12 frames faster than pushing the block, and pit walking back to the door. In the area with the Graveyard Key, I found that it was about 3 frames faster to just walk back to the stairs as opposed to falling in a pit and respawning. Enjoy the WIP, I hope to get most, if not all of D1 done today, I'll post it when I've done it. Leave comments please.

Looking pretty good so far, good work. Just a couple of things: there's a slightly faster way to pit-glitch. Instead of pressing up-right, up-left, up-right, up-left, etc, you should go up, up-right, up, up-left, and so on. I didn't start doing this until later on when I found out about it. I didn't think it was worth going back so far to save a few frames. Also, to manipulate enemy set-ups, you have to delay frames in the last room that had enemies in it. So for the room with the two stalfos, you would have to delay frames two rooms back in the room with all the bats.

Thanks. I'm not gonna redo Maku Road, but I'm glad you told me about that pit thing just now, cause I'm in the room in the first dungeon that has pits. =P And alright, I'll keep that in mind, because I was having a bit of trouble with the ghost as well in D1.

Yeah it doesn't always work for some reason, gave me trouble at a few parts. But it should work almost all of the time. Also, slashing your sword always changes the enemy set-up, so if you have time to slash it's usually easier to manipulate with the sword.

Man, I haven't checked this thread in AGES. I saw dezbeast's up-to-3 WIP for Seasons...very nice stuff! Is dezbeast still doing Seasons? And if so, how's progress? Maybe the two runs can be submitted and (potentially) published together?

Dezbeats was having some problems with the manipulation in Seasons, but I hope he is still working with it. I'm helping Swordless with the manipulation in the first dungeon atm. It surely is annoying...

I sort of got turned off of running Seasons when I couldn't manipulate pegasus seeds. I'm thinking of just forgeting the seeds and just doing the best with what I got.

What if you kill the moldorm in the third room? Those can drop seeds... Do you want me to continue trying with the manipulation?

I'll give it a try and see if it works. Go ahead and continue with the manipulation. I'm going to need all the help I can get.
