Some games have/had multiple revisions to fix bugs found in the first one. Take Donkey Kong Country for example, there were 3 revisions of the game, each one fixing bugs found in the previous one. Do you think it's better to make a speed run with the latest version where certain glitches are no longer present? Or is it perhaps better to use the oldest and buggiest version and take advantage of every glitch present?

I voted for "The newest unless the old has cool bugs". If this is done I realy think you should write (if you are aware of it) that the specific bug only is present in the version that you use. If you don't, people might come and say that you cheat, have edited the game or whatever. I think in the end it all comes down to the fackt that we must prevent all kind of negative response that tool-assisted movies get all the time, that is also a reason why you should use the newest as often as possible so that everybody can pull it of, unless we're talking Big time glitch that is realy cool or timesaving.
Bein' away for like five years, and not a single new post in the ZSNES forum... :'-(

I also voted like Mazzic. This is because if there are cool bugs I think they should be used. I think Bisqwit mentioned a good example. In PAL-Rygar you can jump over the river but not in the US-version. I don't know how this works but without that "glitch" the Rygar run would be less entertaining. But if there are no bugs like that I'd say go for the newer version.

The point was that if the newer version of the game has some obvious bug fixed, is it right to use the older version anyway?
