SMB1 is quite good to watch espeacially with the two wall kicks, SMB2 completely destroys the experience for me at the moment I didn't like the continous wrapping without progression. SMB3 is OK apart from the annoying going backwards for no reason, which is unavoidable given that you have to do it in the other games, and I haven't watched the J run becuase I don't have the rom, and you also appear to different rom version for for SMB 2+3 which surprisingly didn't cause desyncs although it might at some point.

I said, ignore everything after frame 2000... Unless you're referring to that one part at the start of SMB2. I have bad dumps for SMB2/3? That would be big news to me. According to FCEU, I have the same checksum as the ROMs used for the TASes on this site.

I was going to TAS and do some homework tonight.... thank you very very very much for giving me an INCREDIBLY good reason not to. YES X4!!!!!!!!!!!! Words cannot do justice how awesome this run is. This run exemplifies above all other previous runs: "How the hell did they do that?" Congratulations for finally completing this massive project. You should be receiving your virgin payments by mail within the week.
Well, ComicalFlop just encouraged me to keep going. Just like I encouraged him to keep doing the Mario Kart 64 run. We're a team, despite the fact that the Red Sox are 10 games ahead of the Jays in baseball... rrr... Anyway, I'll keep working on it (But this time, I'll check for desyncs every ~500 frames).

The Red Sox are awesome! So are you playing all four at the same time? Kind of like 1 controller for four games at once or not? This is going to be the greatest run of all time. It's going to be published eventually right?

The movie file only has one game's checksum in it, so of course it will say wrong checksum for the other games.

As you may have noticed, I haven't worked on this in like 4 months. The reason is simple: I can't get SMB2j to work. It loads fine when I open it up on the first go, but I get "Disc error 22" when I replay the movie. I have a vague sense fixing the problem has something to do with "erasing SRAM", but I have no clue how to do this. If someone helps me with this, I'll probably have the run done within a month or two. This run has the highest ratio of "I want it done" to "Damn this is frustrating" of all my runs. Considering how frustrating this run is, you see I'm pretty serious.

just look for the file [ROM name].srm in your emulator's directory and erase it each time before you run the game.

I can't find that file. What folder would it be in? My assumption was "sav", but there's nothing in there.

4-game runs has been done... you need to up the anti and go for 9-games.
This signature is much better than its previous version.

What would the other 5 be? But seriously. In my "directories" thing, all the paths are blank. Do I have to have the game running, or nothing running, or what?

I know. Some Mario hacks would work.

I'm not sure if this runs doable at least until quantum computers come along.

I'd love for anyone who casually mentions that a quantum computer is some magic automatic TASing device to explain how.

Many people see the word "quantum" and think "UNLIMITED POWER!"

I finished the run, but it desynched, so I has to start over. So ha. But seriously, all the directories in my configuration are blank. What do I do?

By default, FCEU saves SRAM to the folder "sav" , but I don't think SMB2j saves anything so that could explain why that folder is empty. Try running a game that does, for example The Legend of Zelda, and you'll see a file being created called something like "Legend of Zelda, The (U) (PRG0).sav". So I guess this problem is probably not caused by SRAM related stuff.

Actually, that line is empty as well by deafult (at least for me). But this is really a non-issue since SMB2j doesn't create an SRAM file anyways.

If it is empty, the do a windows search for them (Start menu - Search)

It won't find anything, because FDS disk is rewritable, so the SRAM is all written back to the file. Once you use it, it becomes "dirty", so you should always have a clean copy of it.

And that's a problem with many FDS dumps: Many of them were already played before they got copied, so they actually start out "dirty". And a lot of games don't have an option to erase all the saved information. I think some emulators make copies of FDS files to store saved games without modifying the original game, but I'm not sure.
