I submitted a run for a genesis game pretty much nobody cares about (James Pond 3), so naturally votes aren't exactly pouring in. The thing is, I've already begun working on the second version, and it looks like I'll be finishing this one before the first one has been officially accepted or rejected. So, is there anything funny I have to do before submitting the second run? Otherwise there'd end up being 2 topics on Workbench about the game, and I don't want any confusion between the two. Do I have to alert the original topic and tell people not to vote, or get Bisqwit to delete the topic, or any other weird thing like that? Or should I just submit the run as nornal and hope people just ignore and forget about the original topic.

Cancel the first one, submit the second. Wouldn't hurt, I suppose.

Traditionally one edits their previous submission and sets the status to Cancelled. You could do so now. It's not necessary, and maybe undesirable depending on how long it'll take you to finish the updated one. But you should definitely indicate it's being updated in the submission text.
