This would be nice to disable since it can be annoying sometimes. It's espeically annoying in Zelda II when I try to turn around and it ends up doing really weird glitches instead.

... but making a good TAS isn't possible at full speed... Here, we host emulators with rerecord and its tools to make TASes. If you want to play in real time then use an other FCEU version there are many of them with what you want. Easy to find.

What if Blaziken257 wants to record his realtime playthrough?

Are you sure you read what I wrote? USE AN OTHER VERSION FCEU or another emulator.

He never said he was TASing. But then again, he could just use an unmodified version of FCEU. (If the unmodified version doesn't allow up/down left/right)

It doesn't require lof of searches to find a version that left+right is disallowed. That site is not about general emulation. There are already other sites for that. Emulators that we are talking here are about what we need to make TASes.

No talking about non-TAS usage of emulators allowed, sorry. If you want to find a version of FCEU that doesn't force you to use left/right, go find a site that has a subforum for non-assisted works. We don't have a section where people can submit and discuss non-assisted runs, so don't go using that as a justification for a non-imposing emulator or anything. Seriously, though, why doesn't FCEU have this as a toggled feature like other emulators do?

No one said that. Edit: Oh I see...: Emulators Questions and answers concerning each emulator supported on this site. Also, it's rather ambiguous that the version of FCEU we use is named FCEU when it shouldn't. If I remember correctly, the license that project use, GPL or something, restrict people to call a derived project to be called the same name as the original, I remember reading it somewhere. Ex. FCEU XD, FCEU-mm etc... are named differently. In fact, the project, FCEU+rerecord, that we use, is illegal or just morally bad. Anyway Xodnizel wrote: "Official development of FCE Ultra has been halted permanently. If you wish to create a derivative continuation of FCE Ultra, you must choose a different name, like "Uncle Bob's Grand Ol' NES Emulator", "FCE Ultra Super Duper Edition", or something *utterly silly* like "phamicom"(which, incidentally, is already taken)."

And what "Speedrun competitions" does have anything to do with General emulation?

Because it's idiot but not as much as you. Edit 2: Also, Nestopia and Nintendulator are probably better to make movies. speedrun or TAS.
