I was just talking to Cazlab. We got to the subject about video games that has become movies. Non-animated that is. Feel free to enlighten our minds. Those I can think of right now are as follows: Street Fighters Mortal Kombat (think there are five or more) Super Mario Brothers.

Don't forget about Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. Silent Hill is also planned but there's not a lot of info about it right now, I guess. Of course, somebody has to point out that there's a lot more movie video games than video game movies, for no other reason than to point it out? Perhaps this suggests that video games are the Borg!

Heh, those last ones were all either comic books to film and games, or film to games. I feel like deus ex may have been something before it was a game? Was there ever a book? I know the phrase means something and originated long before the game.

Those mortal kombats are great! I would love to see an un-animated movie of megaman, and I think many people here also think so.. Any ideas of who could act as megaman? I heard a friend of mine talked about maybe jean cloud van damm.. That's a pretty good idea, or what do u think?

I deleted the double post. The Metroid movie has surfaced in the rumor mills again. Doubt it will happen though. Frankly, I hope it doesn't. No one has mentioned House of the Dead yet. I wish I could forget it. I don't think video games can make good movies. At least not without my wisdom. ^_^

Ah, good ol' House of the Dead...one of my friends considers it THE best bad movie of the last 20 years. I wouldn't go that far, mainly because Space Mutiny still falls within this period (the friend in question hasn't seen that), but it is indeed the hotness. Easily better than Street Fighter, even. And the good news, for people like me anyway, is that the director of that film is also working on Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark. Check out the trailer for the latter if you haven't, it's hilarious...they already stuffed random techno music and bullet-time effects into it. Also, fellow B-movie fanatics, be on the lookout for Street Fighter 2. Not only will Jean-Claude come back as Guile, but he's bringing none other than He-Man himself, DOLPH F'N LUNDGREN out of retirement to play Charlie (yes, I know Charlie was Blanka in the first one...I think they're just gonna call him "Nash" and claim he's a totally different character). Unfortunately, for obvious reasons, we won't have Raul Julia on hand again to call Charlie "Carlos", but this should still be damn funny. Really, the only video-game movie I enjoy on its own terms is the first Mortal Kombat. Everything else = unintentional comedy or just plain Deep Hurting. -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

Street Fighter movie sequel? Sweet Zombie Jesus...that's scary. I like Dolph Lundgren though. Did you know he's a genius? I think he speaks 4 or 5 languages. I agree, MK is the only video game movie I enjoyed, but not by much. The sequel still haunts my nightmares.

His acting ability isn't genius, though. Seriously, have you seen that He-Man movie? *shiver*

Sounds to me like feitclub is talking about his intelligence, not his acting ability.

>Did you know he's a genius? I think he speaks 4 or 5 languages. That makes you a genius? Didn't know I was one. :D Well, I guess it depends on the definition of "speak". When do you know a language well enough to claim you speak it?

Maybe that's just one thing of many mighty feats of intelligence he can do. :o

The five languages are Swedish, English, German, French and Japanese. I'm not saying that alone makes him a genius, but it is impressive. He also has a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering and he was a Fullbright Scholar at MIT. None of these things make him a good actor, but I like him.
