Maybe it's just my bad searching skills, but I can't find a thread that discusses DHT in the torrents. Since this isn't an exclusive site with ratio enforcement, logins required to download, etc., why isn't DHT enabled?

What is DHT again? If it is some kind of noncentralised tracking thing, then we aren't using it because it makes the "downloaded N times" statistics completely useless, as those are not reported by clients anymore. It also makes it more difficult or impossible to get obsoleted torrents out of circulation.
