Funny you should mention that, I've seen vids of the Wii version on YouTube and they look super cool. I played a little bit of the GCN version too when my friends had it. I suppose it's not, strictly speaking, an FPS, but that might not be an issue.
Technically, no, this is not a FPS... however there is way too much gun slingin' action in *almost* first person view for the game to not be considered a shooter... <too>

I very much agree with this post.

Most of the shooting games I have are TPS (though one can change to first person). Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction Star Wars Battlefront 2 Mission Impossible:Operation Surma Robotech: Battlecry
Renting this space for rent. Trying to fix image on this site. Please cut slack. As of April 6th, 2012: After a long absence, here we go again?

I know one of them is Star Wars Battlefront 2. It would have been far less annoying for you to just tell us the names of them all. Doing so would save valuble time I could otherwise be spending watching a blank screen or planning what to eat for dinner. Edit because of an edit.

I did a lot of HeXen (PC & N64), Duke Nukem 3D (PC), and Quake 3 Tournament (DC). For some reason I also played a whole lot of Turok 3: Something of Oblivion (N64) with friends, and still do every so often. I think we liked the variety of crazy settings.

They just patched full VOIP support into Quake Wars and it is now 1000% more fun. The first game I played with my headset on I was laughing hysterically the whole time. We were beating the other team to a pulp and noone would shut up about it.

Wow you guys really still play all those old games? I still play Counter-Strike 1.6 every now and then but I've really been playing alot of Gunz (Gunz: The Duel or Gunz Online...same game) on ijji.com. Not technically a FPS because its third person but it has lots of shooting. I like Gunz because it is BROKE...almost any animation can be canceled leading to lots of different play styles and unpredicatability from your opponents. Also its nice to have a sword to fall back on instead of hiding to reload. Its a great game and I don't think I should have told you guys because now you're all going to kill me :-( ps: does this sound too much like a short essay ???

I have been playing CO-OP DOOM/DOOM2 megawads on Legacy TCP/IP with my friend for several years now. Some of them are so ruthless and unforgiving. Now playing CCHEST2.WAD and just ran through CCHEST.WAD. Some of the best architecture and map design there is. Our personal favourites are Memento Moris and Requiem. Completed them several times now. Always up for some new megawads if you have some nice ones to suggest. They must be CO-OP multiplayer compatible.
