The problem with that is that the Palace of Four Swords is normally inaccessible unless the player has first beaten the multiplayer game included with this version of LttP. Exploration glitches are currently the only known way to get into this extra dungeon. To avoid the problem of "fuzzy goals", we either have to use EG's totally, or not at all (the latter not being possible given our overall goal). So, I do want to hear from superbacon if it's at all possible to use EG's to glitch directly to the four Links battle, since this whole discussion hinges on that fact.

Yeah, I've found a way to glitch directly to the 4 Link Clones. It doesn't require the Flippers like the other room. This means if I want to beat Link Clones and get the ending as fast as possible, I need to find the quickest way to obtain the Master Sword, Tempered Sword, or Hammer. The Master Sword requires that I obtain the 3 Pendants through glitching (which is possible even with 3 Hearts), and then go to the Woods to pick it up. I'm pretty sure that the Tempered Sword requires I get the Magic Mirror, which in turn means I need to get the Hammer and Titan Mitts. The Hammer is the easiest to get without any major requirements, so I might get this weapon. So far, it looks like this: -Start game and go to HC. -UDEG or STEG to DW1 and get the Hammer. S&Q. -Go back to HC and UDEG/STEG to Four Sword Palace. -Defeat Link Clones using Hammer. Of course, this seems like a VERY boring run (to me, anyways), so I just might submit a speed run that goes through the entire palace, and if it's beaten, I'll submit the most likely faster run I've outlined above. And even while I type this, I've just thought of a way that obsoletes my so-called "faster" run I've outlined above. It requires a MAJOR glitch, but I'll keep it to myself for now. Expect to be just as boring, if not more.

It sounds like the Four Swords palace is like a bonus area; correct me if I'm wrong. If that's the case, though, then it seems like it should be permissable to allow starting from a savefile, as has been done in the past for e.g. Maxim/Julius Modes for the GBA Castlevania games. Then you could just make the run be "fastest run through Four Swords palace without using exploration glitches". Mind, I'm not certain how well that meshes with the three-hearts thing.

If that's the case, I guess we could do a glitchless speed run for the second ending. I'll need more time to figure this one out since I've never thought about doing it as fast as possible this way.

It wouldn't work because the 3 Heart run can only accomplished using glitches. Would it be OK to have both a glitchless and a glitched speed run for LTTP (GBA)?

Well, I wouldn't want to watch a 10 minute run where you EG into the 4 sword palace as fast as possible, fight those shadow links then be done. That palace looked quite nice, I'd much rather watch a 100% or no EG run or something that plays the 4 sword palace fully.
Indeed. Simple solution: Create SRAM that has the extra dungeons open. ... For what it's worth, I would much rather see a minimal-glitch TAS for once. Skipping everything doesn't make it more entertaining, especially when it's something that is not normally able to be seen.
