Post subject: Can't speed up movie playback. HELP!

This is frustrating. Unless I'm mistaken, you're supposed to use the + and - keys to change the playback speed on movies, right? Well, it's not so easy if you happen to be using a swiss keyboard. The minus key works fine, but the plus key (Shift+1) doesn't speed up the playback, and the numpad plus key doesn't do anything. Is there any other way to speed up playback? It's excrutiating having to sit through lengthy dialogue sections.

Try pressing Tab (I hope Swiss keyboards have it).

I already tried Tab. In fact, I tried pressing ALL the keys I have, including holding down Shift as well. Nothing worked. Is there any other way to speed up the playback?

Well, then remap fastforward to a key that works, problem solved. If you can't do that, the problem lies elsewhere.
