I've recently gotten into TAS videos, and already had a version of Visual Boy Advance (1.8 or 1.9), so I figured I could see what fun I could have slowing down a game. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any controls or options to do so. I checked this site's FAQ, which wasn't very helpful ("+ to speed up, - to slow down" didn't even WORK). Searching for more resources online (and even consulting the original VBA FAQ), I got zilch. My final hope? To annoy the hardened veterans of this very forum until they'd spill the beans on slowing down the speed of a VBA game. I am very sorry for acting like a noob, but I can't think of anyone else who can help me anymore apart from the guys who are able to do this kind of thing, AKA the TASVideos forum members. Thank you.

I would suggest getting one of the versions here just to be sure. Those should all have - and = (not the ones on the numpad, the ones up by backspace) as the default speed controls. Good luck!

As alden said, first of all download the latest version of VBA unless you haven't, there is a possibility that the version you have is outdated. After that, you can check what buttons control the speed in version 19.3 under "Tools" -> "Customize common hotkeys" and then scroll down to the bottom of the list to find SpeedIncrease and SpeedDecrease. Now you can assign whatever button you'd like to them, if + and - doesn't work.

It should be noted that the official version of VBA won't work for making a TAS. The version at the site that alden linked has been modified to add new features for TASing.

Thanks very much for the links, but AGAIN I have a problem. I can't run the program with some sort of dll file that it didn't even include! Is there a resource for the dll somewhere?

Download VBA here - Thread wrote:
NOTE: This version requires certain DLLs to run. You can try downloading them here ( http://xouboudou.free.fr/gba/vba-dll.zip ), or go to http://www.dll-files.com/ and download whichever DLL files it says you're missing when you try to open the program.
