Ok, here is a little run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters. I played this on the easiest difficulty, and it is unoptimized as hell. You may want to fast forward until the first fight, because I take a long ass time on the menus and stuff. Do me a favor, and don't critique my playing, because this wasn't meant to be a serious run. The only reason I made this was to get a topic out there, gather interest, and hopefully see someone get a movie published of this crazy game. Even though I followed the guide I couldn't figure out how to do ANY of the special moves (the staff pummel was accidental at all times.) I did find that throwing is the most powerful move... although, once again, I had no idea how to do it. Anyways, I think this game deserves an attempt... what is other people's opinion?

[offtopic] This is the first video game I bought (though I bought the gensis for Streets of Rage 2). When I saw it in the store I first thought it is a beat em up, with the lava monster in the background being a boss. Boy, was I disappointed at first :) [/offtopic] I prefer the graphics over the SNES counterpart (characters look more evil), but it didn't have the super moves/bar, that were implemented in the SNES title. The controls are rather primitive: A for punch, B for kick, C for taunting/desperation moves/casey's bomb. Donatello's "staff pummel" is done by ->,<-,->+B or A(close to opponent, A or B depends on character) Unassisted, easiest "foolproof" methods to win were: -with Ray: sliding until a hit connections and grab him the instance he gets up ("discovered" by my brother; so frustrating, as I could not get out once I fell) -with Casey: simply do the invincibility move over and over (my cheesy tactic :P) Assisted, I unfortunately think it involves indeed throwing the enemy. The best throw I can think of is Casey's one (->+A), due to its smack down (no air time) and fast recovery. I remember often having simply thrown the enemy 4 or 5 times in a quick succession, killing him from full health. I say "unfortunately", as this will become quite dull. There are basically 3 endings (could be more, I don't remember): -easy: text saying something like "try next challenge" -normal: cut scene where the end boss gets away -hard: end boss is defeated and splinter is rescued PS: The genesis game does also have "super moves", so called desperation moves. But they aren't that "flashy" and require to have very little hp. I'd love to see a tas of this game, however not because it is suited for a tas, but only because it was the first game I ever owned.

actually, I was debating over which I should post, an snes of genesis version. I chose genesis mainly because <having> the X Y L and R buttons blow my mind... too many buttons for a keyboard to handle XD There aren't very many combos in this game, as far as I could tell, and there are fewer characters in the Genesis version than SNES. Also, I completely agree that throws would get boring... yet that is the only quick, foolproof way to beat the game. Hell, even on easy, the computer blocks like a bitch 99.8% of the time. I think the game is kind of slow, as well... it just doesn't have the quick fighting style that MKII has to offer.

Hm, I made a short test tas, using the throwing technique of casey. Throwmania If a submitted run looked like this, I doubt it has a chance of getting published. But I didn't try comboing around either. Maybe someone with more experience (of both the genesis and SNES title) knows, if there is an interesting way to beat the game fast. Anyway, it was fun playing this game again :) PS: I didn't find anything at gamefaqs, but does anyone know if there is a code to make the boss characters playable?

I don't know about the Genesis version, but I'm almost entirely certain such a code exists in the SNES version.
