Title says it all. I have the .exe file on my desktop but that's all I have to work with. I've looked up several tutorials but none have worked for me. Thanks

Well, according to Adelikat, it only needs to be unzipped and installed. I would say try downloading it again, from here or, more specifically, a direct download at free-codecs.com Try those, see if they work

He is probably talking about a VfM compatible version of x264 to use it virtualdub. I don't believe there is an 'official' version of that anymore. Though there is probably a third party one available. Somewhere.
