This is a kind of dumb question, but how do you record a movie in ZSNES v1.51? I can't find the "record movie" option anywhere on the menus.

1. Open the ROM 2. Enter GUI (Escape) 3. Misc-->Movie Opt

Protip: Use snes9x instead. It has better functionality for making TASes. It also doesn't have the "Record movie" option hidden from the user. Additionally, movie playback for the viewers is much more complicated on ZSNES, you will get less feedback while you make it and less viewers when you submit it.

Strangely, every time I open SMW (or hacks of it)(and no other ROMs) on snes9x, it creates a very strange pallette glitch that turns parts of the background dark and certain sprites or objects invisible. This glitch makes some levels almost impossible to play. Since I want to TAS a hack of SMW, I can't use my snes9x emulator. Could someone give me a download link to the best version of snes9x out? Apparently my version (I don't know which) doesn't work.

Snes9x 1.43 improvement 11 is the best one out. Snes9x 1.51 is not a good emulator I don't think.

Improvement 12. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6471&start=0 Gocha has also done work on snes9x 1.51. I don't know if it's any more viable for TASing now, but it wouldn't hurt to try it out.
