I hope that Pittsburgh wins, simply to up the confidence on that team. They've been playing really well all year. The fact that they caught fire with Crosby injured shows that they're a capable team that doesn't have to rely on one or two stars to make it all the way. They also have a 12-2 record in these playoffs so far. On the other hand, a lot of the Red Wings are old farts, and for most of them this will be their last hurrah. Regardless of who wins, it'll definitely be an interesting matchup of the old legends vs. the future of the NHL. Pittsburgh in six. What do you guys think?

Ever since I first saw my hero Mario Lemieux play in Pittsburgh Penguins, I've always cheered for them, even during those rough years :( But knowing there are lots of swedish players in Red Wings, I wouldnt be terribly disappointed if they would win. But go Penguins!

My money is on Detroit. They have been strong all year, no reason it should stop now

Putting money on Detroit. The NBA Division Finals! would have been an equally stupid thread.

Would it be too much to hope that in an international forum the topics were international?-)

Good thing this thread is in the Off topic section then. Oh, also it's an international league. With players pulled from the global pool. Which is watched in more places than North America.

I stopped caring when the Avalanche beat the Wild.

3rd overtime now. Detroit has been the stronger team through the first two overtime periods. Edit (merged post): Pittsburgh wins 4-3 in 3OT. Scored on a 4-minute powerplay as well. Next game is June 4 at Pittsburgh at 8:00 PM ET.

I am nearly in shock seeing that the first 5 games were predicted perfectly.

Well, shall we see if all of them are correct?

Apparently they won't be. There are 3.5 minutes left in the 3rd period and it's now 3-1 for Detroit. EDIT: 1.5 minutes left, it's now 3-2 after a PP goal from Pittsburgh. It's not over yet! EDIT2: 45.8 seconds left. No change. Still 3-2. EDIT3: Nope. They lost. Predictions were not accurate, but Detroit still won. You got that part right.

You got the first 5 right (impressive), but Detroit took game 6. Though pittburgh ALLLLMOST scored at the buzzer.

Congrats to Detroit for winning. Again. I'm hoping that the Wild fine tune things next year, cause they had a great 07-08 season. Here's to hoping the cup comes to MN next year.

I missed the game due to work, but congrats to Detroit. Henrik Zetterberg (a Swede) wins Conn Smythe Trophy for playoff MVP. Angerfist will be very pleased.
