Emulator: GBA 1.7.2 re-recording v19.2
Gameplay started from Power On. Gameboy Advance Emulator's Bios
I didn't use any warps or passwords.
I failed a few mini games because I thought a few of them were much more entertaining to fail at than to pass. The game continues normally and does not waste time as far as I know.
There appears to be view programming errors that I could take advantage of, but I certainly had fun showing off some quirks like super speed and it's effect on the mini games.
My aim for this movie was to be as entertaining as possible during times which I could not effect the speed of the game. My goal after that was to get to the credits as fast as possible.
WarioWare Twisted is the second in the series. I chose this one for a couple of reasons. First off, this game came up with a new physics engine which it used in some of the games, making them nearly impossible even with lots of practice. This game begged for me to destroy it. Secondly, speed of play does have an effect during some mini games and bosses so the finishing time isn't completely predetermined like the other one.
This movie wasn't too hard to make. Took a bit longer than I thought it would over three days but it was still just fun to do. I was going for frame perfection a lot of the time when I thought it would be more fun to see. Honestly you may not know how badly I destroyed the mini games unless you play it yourself.
Wario Intro: All the games in this set are not timed at all. You could take an hour to complete this part of the game, or like me just a few seconds. Quite fun to watch, especially knowing how long it can take.
Mona: Nothing special here, just complete the games as entertaining as possible, which was not easy as in the case of the boss level. I hate that level...
Jimmy: Once again, try to complete everything as entertaining as possible. The end boss in this can be completed very fast. In fact it's over in a few frames. That made me very happy inside.
Kat and Ana: Same as above, except the boss battle took a little longer. I challenge anyone to try this game them self and see how long it can take. I honestly thought that was very fast...heh. Funny boss level as well. I thought it was very entertaining to watch.
Jimmy's Folks: Well this one is about the same as Mona, including the boss level which is really stupid. Heh. But I tried to make the games worth it.
Dribble: Once again, timed mini games except the boss battle. This one was entertaining to me as well. With frame precision the entire thing takes about a 4th less time than usual. Bad handling makes boss kinda slow but overcoming that makes you superman.
Dr. Crygor: I hate this dudes mini games out of all of them in the entire game. This is the new physics engine I was referring to. Gravity changing. This took me the longest to do on console and I was very happy to destroy them in TAS. His boss battle is mostly predetermined time, but not nearly as painful to watch as Mona's.
WarioWatch: This is the big time saver here. I think out of the whole TAS this is the funnest to watch. Why? There is no time limits. You can finish the games as fast as you want and I did just that! Unfortunately there is a fairly predetermined set of mini games you get so I had to do a couple long ones. I don't know, poking candy out of a child's mouth seems pretty fun right?
Orbulon: *yawn* He gives you MORE time to complete his puzzles than the other characters do. It's not too much more time but it does make you wish you could speed him up. The boss battle is also predetermined in terms of time, but hey it's got decent music so it's not so bad
9-Volt: Ah, the boy that looks like a darn dog to me still. I thought he was a dog for a long time. Anyway his mini games do please me the most. "Spintendo classics" certainly bring some 8-bit fun. His boss battle is fun as well. If you're not careful you can move really fast! I moved so fast that I glitched up the mushroom. I hit the ? block and it appeared near the end of the stage. Awesome. The whole thing is done in a couple seconds.
Wario-man: The final set of mini-games. All in this set are timed. I tried making everything as entertaining as possible. The boss battle? I HATED trying to play this on console. It took me so many darn tries I couldn't even begin. Well it turns out that the controls and stuff were very loose and that may have been the problem. Watch me just make this game look stupid, and Wario for that matter.
I had to manually get to the credits on the select screen which I earned from defeating Wario-man. Heh...you wanted to the credits! There you go!
Lastly: I don't really care if this run is rejected. I did it to have some fun and I gave it my all. It needed to be destroyed and I hope that at least a few of you enjoy the same pleasure. I know the other WarioWare runs have been rejected and I know why. A lot of you may find this boring but it's cool.
SUBMISSION CANCELED. WAS ENLIGHTENED ON A WAY TO SKIP ALL THE BORING CRAP! So..stay tuned. :3

I'm not able to find the rerecord version 19.2 and the run is desynching with all other versions I've tried so far. Could you, or someone else, upload it please?

There has been a WarioWare game before, and it was rejected due to entertainment rules. However, this one does seem kinda cool, but I'll wait to hear what other people say before choosing. Or not. Whichever I decide upon first :P.
See Youtube page (GIRfanaticTAS) for all runs and stuff.

Doesn't this game support tilting the GBA? So, how did you implement it in VBA, by patching the ROM or with a plug-in?

Generally, it's patched to use the L+R buttons. I assume it's done the same. As for my thoughts, this doesn't make a very good game choice IMO. I'm voting no on that factor. I believe somebody had done a Warioware game before and that was rejected for the exact same reason (I think they did the first Warioware game). Edit: Found it. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3576
Truncated: Rejected because of poor feedback, and I can understand why. A human player could have done just as well as this. And all the events are timed, so there is no way to speed anything up.
Taking over the world, one game at a time. Currently TASing: Nothing

That's cause the other one DID look like a human player could do it. I dare you to pull up the game, and record me a movie at 100% with no re-records and then tell me what you think. ;) I respect your opinion though.

I can't get 19.2 to recognize the movie file as such. It won't pick it up. Maybe I'm using the wrong emulator. Could you like to it or something?

Well, I got it to work under VBA 19.3. Try playing it there. If the first mini game (shave) does not work, then you will have to patch the ROM with this: http://bubbz.pocketheaven.com/?system=gba&section=patch_info&patch_id=1231 That patch makes the game use the D-pad for the tilting instead of a tilt sensor. Without the patch, the D-pad is completely ignored since the tilt sensor is used for all navigation. I will watch this later and give a response to it then. EDIT: Hmm... I have a few questions. 1. Did you purposely lose in the two "don't trip" mini games where the lady had to jump over the rocks? And did you also purposely lose in that one avoid mini game in Wario Man where he was avoiding asteroids or whatever was shooting at Earth? If you didn't actually lose, I must have desynched a frame or something, which is strange since all the other mini-games finished properly. 2. Is there any way to skip those cut scenes? They take so long that entertainment value is lost. Other than those two complaints, I think this was a decent run. I liked the times when you were doing crazy things and you ended up just making it. I was also amused when you completed some of the mini-games before the screen transition finished. That final boss for Wario Man was... special. It's funny that the programmers allowed erratic movements in that last game as long as you were in the correct position at the proper time. However, I would have expected something much harder like in the WarioWare, Inc. game where it was very easy to lose just because you never knew what was coming next until you got far enough to see what it was... and then lose if you didn't have the reflexes. I'm not sure if it is proper for a TAS to have those credits shown, but I suppose it is the equivalent of a "the end" to the game anyway. I vote yes for doing beyond what the actual console could do, especially in terms of spinning.

Thanks for that. But I still can't get it to work. I don't know how to patch GBA games. Sorry to be the annoying one of the group, but could you tell me HOW to patch it?

Make a copy of your ROM and download the patch. Then use Lunar IPS ( http://www.zophar.net/utilities/download/lips100.zip ) to apply the patch to the ROM. Lunar IPS is pretty straight forward since it is a GUI program, so you should be able to figure the rest out.

1) Yes, I failed a couple of them on purpose, I said that in the submission text. 2) No, I wish there was or I would have done it. This game makes you watch the cut scenes the first time you play through. THanks for the yes vote, Do appreciate it. :)

Did you try to reset the game to skip the cut scenes?

Cut scenes are played before every level (except for one). Resetting would not help because, if I understand the game correctly, each cut scene can be skipped when you complete each level, but not all of them at once.

Long, but I enjoyed it. Really it never got boring for me because of the (great) music, and the sheer variety of the mini games. It sort of sucks about the long cutscenes though. But Yes for me.

I hadn't tried that but only because I assumed that since you couldn't skip the cut scenes until you complete the level, that it wouldn't make a difference

I downloaded the game already patched. It uses left and right on the D-pad instead.

I watched it, and I'm afraid I wasn't very entertained, mostly because of the horrible cutscenes. I think the Rhythm Tengoku TAS that FODA did was far more entertaining, and it's along the same kind of lines. Sort of.

I totally, 100% could not get this movie to work in Re-Record v19.2, v19.3, OR v20.0. It did "Shave!" slowly and pittered out at "Lure!". I'm using the ROM "Wario Ware Twisted! With Tilt Hack.gba" which assigns the left and right D-Pad buttons to tilt and assigns B to boost the tilt speed. (Not sure the other buttons do much of anything.) Is it the ROM or the EMULATOR (or maybe even the emulator SETTINGS) that's screwy? Edit: blahblahmoo's patch on a fresh, unpatched ROM failed to work as well.

I think when a cutscene starts, you can reset the game immediately, and then that cutscene will become instantly skippable. It would have to be done for each cutscene. I haven't tested if that works, though, but there's a high chance it does (I'm pretty sure the DS version works like this). It might be worth it looking into it. Also, Mona Pizza theme rocks.

As an owner of WarioWare Twisted, I enjoyed most of the games played. But I highly suggest trying what GeminiSaint said, because without the cutscenes, the movie would be much more entertaining and shorter as well. Until then, I'll hold off any votes.

I can confirm that the "start-reset-restart" thing works for foregoing the cutscenes. Rerecord v19.3 (and probably 19.2) support in-move resets. Now, can I get an answer to my question? D:

Ya. If that works I will re-do the movie. That was an assumption overlook on my part. I assumed the cutscene couldn't be skipped til after completing the level.

Maybe you can try to get a different ROM? I had no problem patching mine.
