Whoa - someone actually OWNS mp3?? Does that mean that any artist that distributes music via mp3 has to pay said royalties? Or is that just for this codec?

I think DivX I think is also owned by someone. That's why people are starting to use Xvid now. The song "happy birthday" is owned by some company that demands royalties every time you hear it on TV or in a movie. Yeah, it's crazy isn't it.

Acctually, I think it's kinda funny. Everything in the world seem to be owned by someone, it's just a matter of time till you can by air volume :P

Just out of curiosity, what magazine is this for? (I might very well pick it up and let people know what you write :) ) Since i'm in denmark, there should be no problems there... The onyl magazine I know of with a DVD here in denmark is Privat Computer though.. Hmm...

So if you use a videocamera in a movie theater to record the movie, do you have all rights to distribute your tape? That's what these AVI files are.

What the hell? Do you even understand what he is saying??? And how do you use the letter 'u' in a sentance? You even use it twice! I don't understand.

The value of a game lies in it's ability to be played. You cannot play anything Bisqwit distributes. And what he does falls well under fair use. And even if it didn't, Nintendo and Sega would never imagine suing the site. It's making them money by generating interest in their old games. The ones Nintendo is currently bringing back. I'm sorry, Kidofly, you have nothing to stand on with that argument. EDIT: Hmm... I might have misinterpreated who the illegality is against. I'm fairly certain Bisqwit obtained permission for most, if not all the movies on this site from their respective authors.
