end credits of Sonic 1 (up until the Scrap Brain verse). It is the sad tale of a Sonic fan who must accept both the good and bad of the franchise:

Sonic is a hedgehog
Who has gained a reputation
As the fastest dude on Genesis.
His nemesis is Dr. Eggman.
Knuckles, Tails and Amy
Are his friends
(Though Amy wants much more),
And they all fight together
To defeat the Evil Robotnik once more!
Sonic has special powers.
He turns enemies to flowers.
Knuckles can punch and glide
But Tails, he just makes me want to
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide!
