how to read braille. I think it would be cool to be able to experience language through my tactile sense, as opposed to just my visual and auditory senses.

Hey, that's my routine. I prefer taking showers in complete darkness but whatever floats your boat I guess.

you only need like 30 minutes on wikipedia to "learn" it. After that it's a matter of how fast you can decode each character.

I recently took a bath in complete darkness to try and trip like they say you do in sensory deprivation tanks. It didn't really work but I'm not opposed to trying again.

Sensory deprivation takes a lot more than that; I find just completely removing sight input tends to help creative thinking, but it's nothing amazing. Sensory deprivation tanks are a lot more "advanced", at least from what I read.

It has to do with the fact that humans have an innate sense of positioning. In other words, you still know how your limbs are positioned even if you can't see them.

Well, you can start by buying those new silver dollars coming out in 2009 with Louis Braille on the face. Buy one which creates a donation so others can learn as well.

Building off of the thread title (if not its contents, exactly), if I had the spare time I'd totally learn how to play drums. I've always wanted to learn, but don't have the time or money for lessons, nor the space for a kit of my own :) Maybe someday!
