There was a teacher at my school this year with the same name as me. I got his emails all year and pictures of him were labeled with my name in the index of the yearbook.

I haven't seen pictures of my doppleganger, but apparently he likes gaming. He worked for Squaresoft on Final Fantasy VII (can't remember what) and Parasite Eve (CG Movie & Map Animators) Not sure if the same guy was responsible for work on Stargate (the movie) and Night Club. Looks like according to IMDB, he is. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0394371/ I also work for DreamWorks Animation now. :P http://www.linkedin.com/pub/6/322/254

There are plenty of people called Paul Davies:
  • A famous physicist
  • A footballer
  • A guitarist
  • A newscaster
  • An artist and photographer
Hopefully I'm the angriest one. I can't find a picture of myself on Google Images anywhere!

Today when looking through my email I found this interesting message.

my surname is pretty rare, there are only a dozen families with that name. googling my full name only yields about 6 pages about me: university pages, old amiga software I wrote during my teenage years and uploaded to aminet, some mailing lists I've posted on, Realbot for Counter-Strike I've worked on during the pre-source-times, qdq and a couple of changelog or bugzilla entries of different open source projects. nothing to be too proud of, not even a doppelgänger.

On a unrelated note, a website I made for school at the age of 5 is still up. Clicky
The site looks so modern...how old are you? Then again, when I was 5 there wasn't even a World Wide Web yet...that had to wait until I was 6 lol
Well, obviously it's been updated. It mentions the Iraq war, which started when Rridgway was 9 1/2, which puts a date on the website. Assuming the US has spent money on the war at a consistent rate since the start, the site was last updated around february '05.

Someone with the same name as me requested to be my friend on Facebook, but I've left him hanging ever since.

Same with me, I wonder how many times this facebook self-friending has happened.

Not only have I seen a pic, I've also worked at the same job as him, back about five years ago when I worked at McDonald's. It was weird. They'd go "Rick!" and I'd go "What?" and they'd go "No, the other Rick." and I was like..."Oh."

Hahaha. That teacher looks and acts exactly like you too (at least from what I've encountered). I had almost forgotten about that. Crazy.

My last name is Persian and my first name is Jewish. I just learned I have a doppleganger in California and I hate him already.

I seem to have about 50 dopplegangers, because I have a name that is dirt-common. I could actually change my name to "Dirt Common" and it would be more distinctive.

I am apparently the guitarist in the band Zwan (http://www.pumpkins.it/zwan/images/matt.gif), and some sort of football player. I've also seen people that physically look like me, so much that it's scary.

My name is rather common, judging from a quick Google search. Not suprising, since it's from a fairly common first name, and a fairly common last name. My internet handle is a little more interesting in that there are only about 2-4 "other" ones.

We're not directly related. My family going back 8 generations has been born in England or Scotland and only in the 7th generation back has anyone left for the U. S.

Well, my name is very uncommon. Andrew Gardikis. Although, I found someone named "Andy Gardikas" I don't know of anyone with the same exact name as me. I should do a search.

When I was a kid, I was playing NBA Hangtime once just for the heck of it. I was creating a character when suddenly, I saw what looked to be a kid with glasses...that looked just like me back then. So I got my mom and showed her and she could believe it either. XD I don't have a picture right now because I'm trying to get videos to work on PSP, but if you play the game and scroll through the list with the head parts, you'll see what I mean. It's not very easy to miss. ...I look better nowadays though, I swear.

This isn't a real-world doppleganger, but a couple of weeks ago, I stumbled across my net dupe while poking around Photobucket. I wouldn't be surprised if this were the same guy who took my name on Youtube and proceeded to do nothing with the account. He seems to be into World of Warcraft. :/
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.
