http://www.huffingtonpost.com/news/rod-blagojevich I thought the 17th Amendment was passed to end that practice. Also, I remember seeing an old political cartoon that said "put a million in the slot and get a senatorship" but I have a hard time finding it on the Internet.

That quite depends. You could either be classified as an always-online-gaming-addict who doesn't care about anything else or a (politcally) ignorant American. Pick which stereotype suits you best or feel free to enragedly object, if you like. ;)

Plenty the former, and plenty the latter if we designate it as politically *apathetic*. In all seriousness, many times when I hear news on television I have to go look up objective sources online to correct the media's obscured portrayal of events. The American news stations probably contribute greatly to the ignorant American stereotype.

I think this post is actually in violation of a forum rule against making posts that are in response to their own subject. However, this could be fixed by placing a link to a news article at the very beginning of the post, which would also be helpful for other reasons.
How fleeting are all human passions compared with the massive continuity of ducks.

I decided to refer to the queen of online full-page headlines.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL-2), son of infamous race-baiter and former Presidential candidate Rev. Jesse Jackson (D-SC). Oh yeah, I should have posted this classic lyric that encapulates what Blagojevich should have been thinking: Federal agents mad cause I'm flagrant Tap my cell and the phone in the basement

Naturally the media is being retarded about this.
