Have you tried playing it in the program that comes with the plugin? Also, make sure you have the sound recorder plugin set up in the SPU part.

Yeah, for the player to work, it has to be in the plugins directory.

Why are the replays so rediciously big by the way? Is it because it saves analog data from the joystick in some idiotic way? There's no reason for it to be that big, even though there are more buttons on a PSX controller than other older ones.

It doesn't save keypresses, but rather, all the video and sound ouput.

Or you can do it the tough way. Load the .avi into a video editing program (I use virtualdub), do a print screen at the frame immediately before you jump back to the save state, and move back until you find the same frame and just cut out the middle. This is what I used for the last section of my Einhander video, because I was too lazy to do a full run (considering how strenuous the boss run was without using slowdown or rerecording). As for the recording speed, unfortunately, i'm not sure if the DivX codec accounts for intentional framerate changes (at least using ePSXe) Edit: OT, anyone know how to configure audio recording with ePSXe using the divx codec? right now it records video perfectly for me, but for audio i'd have to record the sound through an external sound recording program...even at 100% play speed.

Well.. Then you would have to use something to get ALL frames encoded in that movie. The rate should always be the same right? As long as you don't miss frames you're good I think. But this seams like a very complex way to do it. Atleast for the common user. Wonder how many "common" users there are here anyways. :D

Does anybody still have this? I'd love to experiment with it. Otherwise, what was the exact name of the plugin, or the name of the author?

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to bump this because I want to see if I can revive this. Basically, using this plugin, it's possible to make a (rather large) demo file of everything the GPU and SPU render. They can be played back using any plugin, including the Peter's, making it visually very accurate to the original. It's possible to record with slowdowns, and there are five save states at one's disposal. Superplay recording with ePSXe is possible! There's ONE thing, however: the program with which these demo files can be played back (GPUplayer) does not support exporting these files to AVI. Of course, one could always use an on-screen recorder to snatch the data, but these are unreliable and often drop frames. So is there anybody who could somehow add AVI exporting support to such a program? I don't know much about programming, and I have no idea if it's possible without the source code. Otherwise, I can see if I can contact the one who made it because he shouldn't really mind distributing the source code--the program itself is freeware. edit: I'll upload the programs/plugins and post links here. edit: here are the GPU/SPU plugins as well as the player for the demo files. http://tetravalor.avalanchestudios.net/other/recorder20.zip

Can you say 8 hour Final Fantasy 7? :-P Seriously, it would be nice to see runs for shorter games...

Tomb Raider, Wipe out, Casper, Super Puzzle fighters. Those names pops up, games that I'd love to see done. ;)
