EDIT1, replaced with a correct information, buster doesn't have anything to do with a lag.
Buster can be loaded faster by sliding all the time, left and right is the best choice to shorten your loading time.
I decide to post a WIP in a movie and .fcm formats. Windman stage is played as a first stage and there is few changes and such even the boss battle looks really entertaining to my eyes.

EDIT1. Adding better explained informations to my submission text once my run is finished in the future.
Hey guys! I found a cool ladder trick for this game!
When you are at the bottom of the ladder there is an invisible platform. Grab a ladder and hold down to go all the way to the bottom of it. You can see an invisible platform that can help you gain extra height! :D
Thanks for the discovery! That trick was pretty neat and funny!
It only works when you have to a long jump to reach the ladders
This is an example that you lose 2 frames in the small ladders, when you are on the ladder and slide:
Old time = xxx85
Ladder tech time = xxx86~87
If everything works, everything is same but these are added to my movie I'll save about 90-120 frames. But if you count the randomness time may varie a bit.
1xWind, 1xBlizzard (not sure), 1-2xKnight (at least one works), 1xCentaur, 1-2xToma, 1xMr.X, 1xMr.X3, 1xWily4 (not sure).
I also have a cool trick for defeating the cannon enemy. You charge up a level 3 shot and get right in front of it. Normally shots will bounce off of it but if you are right next to it only a charged shot can get through it (even though you can shoot normal shots through the shield from the left side).
This trick is useful in the first Mr. X stage and Knight Man's stage which brings up a new strategy for Knight Man's stage:
Instead of switching to the Yamato Spear at the beginning of the stage use a charged shot on the cannon enemy in the room right after the falling spikes. Then switch to the jet. It will definitely save some time getting past that long climbing section.
Naruhodo, really interesting strategies and tricks indeed. I will investigate them more when I have time to. But it is essential to change to Yamato spear to fight with the boss, that means that I should to switch weapons two times and weapon changes are really long. But I look forward on these techniques.
Also, there is a cool trick with the jet:
If you are in flight and you let go of the A button for 1 frame then press on it again you will gain extra height and slightly extra speed.
You're welcome!
Oh, and did you try the trick where you try to make Knight Man run at you at the beginning of the boss fight so that you hit him faster?

This trick is already used in my current Mega Man 6 run. But thanks for telling this in here :)
You're welcome!

Manipulating bosses and to hit them faster is an really old trick. This was used in my first run too, same applies for every other mega man games as well. Also sometimes it is slower if boss runs towards you because frame rules are doing them. So it recommend to change your subpixel positions and movements or try to lose frame or two before entering the door.
You know frames of lag at different times can manipulate a bosses action in this game too, right?
This is also really old technique and also my movie search for the minimal manipulation with lag usage. In the Blizzardman battle there was 1 frame lag less than in the previous run. In the Windman and other stages I had none of lag frames because I was able to find the best manipulation possible there like in any other battles too expect in Centaurman's battle.
If you are curious I recommend to watch my movie and see the lag frames, stop the movie and see how it affects in the boss battles.
Like I said earlier it is better to optimize the boss before entering the boss room to manipulate the whole battle without none of lag or just with 1 frame of lag.
In fact, I've already started Wind Man's stage! I'll tell y'all when I'm done with it and even post the WIP! :)
Good to hear that :)
Thank you! Oh, and you know what I figured out, you can gain extra pixels by stopping and restarting a slide repeatedly!
I'm on Room 5 now (the one with all the enemies and death traps)! I hope I'll be able to optimize it as good as you did!

That's why my run is full of those stop and slides. Making subpixels to raise is also an really old trick. You can raise them by walking towards the wall (even you don't move). Also it is not recommended to optimize your subpixel values to maximum because game can generate some extra lag spots that can be avoided by different combinations. It is recommended too to watch your steps when you are on the ladders -> jump and slide because you can do that slide 1 frame faster (then "usual")
My submission text explains well that happens and I recommend to read other informations too. See this for more information
