Ok, lets deconstruct your argument.
First, you address the downloader. They have more harddrive space? Agreed. More bandwidth? Possibly. Pretentious enough to not be able handle something as simple as split files? For the most part, hopefully no.
You are forgetting a major factor. The person hosting the files. They do not have infinite bandwidth. Nor do they have infinite hard drive space. Uploads are capped by most high bandwidth service providers. So have it hosted you say? And who is going to front that bill? Are you, in your vast generousity going to fork over 10 bucks a month for these 2 gb videos?
Most small time run sites are done out of the pockets and the paitence of those who run them. They are usually dedicated and generous people. Perhaps you should be a little more thankful, instead of blasting these people with your logically flawed arguments.
Perhaps if you want 2 gb videos distributed, you should start your own site. I look forward to visiting it. Until then, bow gracefully in thanks, and keep your trap shut.
