hi. well, this is one of the hardest SNES game I ever played. the musics are definitly greats and the challenge in very interestings I think. it's a action plateform games where you play spiderman, cyclops, storm, gambit and wolverine in arcade park. everyone has got his own missions. missions are adapted to one's power. there are also a lot of bad guys : apocalypse, rhino, sentinels, black king, carnage, juggernaut. and some levels are quite impressive : just try gambit's. does someone want to try it ?

Platform games are usually made interesting by accurate maneuvers... While I know absolutely nothing about this game, I fear the worst, for it is a brand-following game - that is, one-size-fits-for-all type jumps, for example. Much like Gremlins 2.

I thought this game was called "Arcade's Revenge". It would make an interesting time attack, assuming that whoever is playing it is a master gamer and knows how to use each character. The only detractor I can really think of is the tedious 'searching' that you have to do with some of the characters (see Spiderman level 1).

I played that game, and was never able to complete a single level beyond the first one. Yeah, I sucked...

I seem to recall hearing a rumor that Juggernaut was literally impossible to beat without a cheat device. Probably BS, but I sure as hell never could get past him... This game in general gave me much frustration back in the day, so I'd like to see a movie of it. -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

This is one of my future projects, but given the amount of work and the hard drive crash that I had a few weeks ago, it could be a while before I get everything back to normal. I did beat 1 level, and only abusing save states on ZSNES, so I think I can try to get my way through. I'm not sure about bugs though, where they are, if they exist at all. --Woody

I hated this game! It was sooo hard! I think I completed one other level than the first back in the day but I can't remember at all.

I vividly remember Gambit's level being quite frustrating.

yes that game was a nightmare. the juggernaut was beatable. you had to cut the ropes and let the weights fall on his head and when you had time you had to give him several punch. gambit levels were absolutely terrifics and frustrating. in fact you had to learn the whole stage and to know exactly where all opponents, traps and plateform were.. absolutely insane

Awhile ago I investigated the game because I remembered it and thought it might make for a good run. But when I remembered what spiderman's first level looked like, as stated above, I thought it wouldn't look very good. But, looking back on it it wouldn't be TOO bad, and I think the following levels would make up for it. I'd say go for it.

Ugh. Instead of Arcade's Revenge, it should have been called Game Designer's Revenge. Apparently the designer said to himself, "Everyone can beat Super Mario Bros., but no one will beat my game! That will make it better!" That's why all these super-powered heroes all seem to have so little power. The thing that irks me the most is that Cyclops loses life for using his optic blasts. That's just not good game design in my opinion. Since I don't think there's good game design, I'm willing to bet there's some bad programming that can be exploited too.

Hi !! This is the beginning of my spiderman vs x-men time attack : I ve done only the spider man "training" stage : well I have to catch all the bombs, and take the exit. I got hit in order to save time. that's all I can say for now. any remarks and comments will be gladfully welcomes ! I add as bonus, gambit's stage one, but it's got a lot of flaws. don't mind it since, I ve got to begin with spider man true stage #1 first. gambit is a kinda bonus for those who watch my movie ^^ here : spiderman and the xmen stage 0

Well, I watched your run though I've never seen this game before. It was ok, I think a perfect run would be much more interesting. There is some good action in this game, though spiderman and gambit seem much more interesting than the rest. However, I have to say that the absence of decent music makes this game pretty lame. :(

Is this going to be made into a .avi? I'd love to see it, but cannot because I use a Mac. Thanks in advance to whomever can convert it. I remember this game, I hated it and never beat it. If it is made into .avi I'd finally get to see it beaten! Thanks again!
Love, Ev

Of course, it's full of flaws, but a good first version. Now optimize it, then preferably optimize it again and you'll have a good run. Anon: I used a rom called "Spider-Man and the X-Men (US)(50672).smc" and it worked fine all the way through.

Alright. I know someone's going to yell at me for this, but I'm reviving this topic because, not only do I want to see this run completed(well. . .refined), but I have some slight insight which may or may not already be implemented into the existing time-attack.(I can't view it properly. I don't have the odd, numbered (U) ROM. Anymore, that is. I deleted it just yesterday, for some reason or another. I'm an idiot. . .)
  • Spider-Man Well, the only thing I can really say is that Spider-Man has very little. . .and I mean like maybe five frames or less. . .of shot-delay when he's in the air. If he's jumping, as fast as you can hammer the button is as fast as he fires. While this isn't exceptionally useful, I'm sure it's at least somewhat useful.
  • Cyclops As a slight reminder, the more Health Cyclops has, the faster he can rapid-fire his Optic Beam. However, if you can manage it, punching and kicking everything seems to work just as well. Better, in some cases, such as vs. Sentinels and Guards. He also punches quite a bit faster in mid-air, as well as having automatic rapid-fire punches by holding the button. No advice for vs. Master Mold.
  • Wolverine Lots of things to say here. Firstly, he strikes quite a bit faster in the air than anywhere else. This is tremendously useful when jumping platforms or just taking out those stupid Gangster-in-a-Boxes you find all over the place. Secondly, vs. Apocalypse, if you jump and strike just as the two of you collide in mid-air, you won't take any damage, but he will! This helps immensely considering how much damage he can do. Unfortunately, I have no real useful advice for Juggernaut. . .
  • Storm Nothing to say here at all, unfortunately. I've yet to find anything even remotely helpful.
  • Gambit/Storm(on Land) Only one thing I can really say here. Enemies that are hit by Gambit's cards(or Storm's lightning bolts) blink and stop doing anything.(This even applies to the Black Queen's arms and head in Gambit Level 2, but does not apply to Arcade's Robots) Try to use this to your advantage.
'kay. Sorry to revive this ancient topic. . .but like I said. I'm interested.
I'm not that hard to find... if you know where to look. -=( http://jolikmc.tumblr.com )=-

Not my favorite game in the world, but as the author pointed out, it's rather difficult (is it even possible to beat Wolverine's 2nd stage?), so a run making it look easy would be fun to watch.

Wow. I remember getting this game as a kid and being so happy to finally have a Spider-Man game for my SNES. Then I remember how HORRIFICALLY difficult it was and how it pretty much brought me to tears because it just couldn't be beaten. I had never wished pain and death upon game programmers before, but after playing this game I wanted them to suffer horrifically. I really don't care how 'neat' or 'clean' the movie was, just seeing this game beaten amazed me. I sincerely thought it was impossible to beat this game. Great job!
