The "File>Movie>Start Playback" crash is a known issue, but I couldn't fix it since I can't reproduce it and when I asked for help from those who had the crash, no one really cared at all (and no, I can't magically fix something I cannot even reproduce, I'm not even a fake coder). You can try one of my latest builds, since I tend to rewrite everything every time I learn something new in C: v007test5.7z. But I have no clue if it will fix/break anything...
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

Can anybody tell me what's wrong? I seem to be not able to click on File>Movie>Start Playback... Everytime i click on start playback, regardless if an img/iso/game is loaded it will crash.
Check your plugin configuration and try setting the plugin folder. If it results in some blank spaces, the path to the plugin folder is too long. Try placing it on the C: drive. Otherwise, use Linuzappz CD plugin, not TAS CD plugin.

Some issues i've also run into is trying to Record AVI as well. Does this function work? It crashes everytime i try to name the file to be saved as.
Don't use record AVI. Use kkapture instead (with v0.0.7, not v0.0.7 test 4) Or else use the recording functions in the GPU and SPU plugins.

Another issue involves running any game and then i press ESC and tinker around with the configurations. I dont remember what I did but i'm sure i didn't hit reset but when i clicked Emulator>run, the game reset back to the playstation loading logo screen.
Sometimes that happens, sometimes not. There's nothing you can really do.

I tried the 0.0.7 version you linked me and it works. I didn't have to configure anything, all i did was replace the file and it already worked. I guess it had to something to do with the one i downloaded. I'm having trouble figuring out how to RErecord something. What I'm doing just overwrites my movie file and all my hard work is lost. The only other way i can figure out what to do is enable "pause after playback" and then record from a new file. Is playback from any point available? It seems if i wanted to just record a portion of the game, after i play the movie file the movie starts from the beginning. It's really annoying when i want to rerecord from that point after i closed the program or want to go back to it if i find something new to add in at that point in the game( i have to watch the whole gameplay from the beginning and then start rerecording from that point.)

Step 1) Create the movie file. Step 2) Set the movie to "read+write" (default hotkey for this is shift+8). Step 3) Make savestates while recording the movie. Step 4) Pause the emulator. Step 5) Load a valid savestate that preceeds that point by however many frames (by valid I mean not a previous attempt that's slower at an earlier point, as that will make you rage when you notice and have to redo it). Step 6) ??? Step 7) Profit!

Is there any way to disable the memory cards? As if you were playing on a PSX that had nothing in either slot 1 or 2. I tried deleting the memcard directory but it just emulates a PSX with unformatted memory cards and if the files are deleted it just creates .tmp files. It would save a lot of time in Crash Bandicoot as it would go straight to the password screen rather than have the long 'checking for memory card' sequence and I'm sure it could speed up some other games.

Has anyone else noted that mz is not the only one working on PCSX anymore? http://www.codeplex.com/pcsxr Perhaps there are a few bug fixes that may help tasers....

Hi, I'm actually working on a suikoden speedrun and I have some sound problem... you can see this on 0:16:50 and at 0:19:40(there also some other SFX issue in the video, but that the main one), of this video . This is quite annoying... I' have try some other plugins, but this seem to cause some unsynchronisation problem. I test some different configuration with the TAS sound plugin and the problem still happen. Here is the configuration, that I playd most of time (version 0.7 test-4) Thanks

Put bluntly, the game doesn't even sound right in pcsx with eternalspu, which is the best plugin there is. As a result, I'd suggest just not tasing suikoden. While the technical aspect could be quite good, the audio being screwed and glitchy for the entire thing would put a huge damper on the overall entertainment factor.

The sound problems where not that bad you should see metal gear solid. I would never watch a tas of an rpg but I don't think a little sound issue should stop you.

Hi, I think that I found what is the cause this. On other emulator, the "normal fps speed" is 56fps on suikoden 2 Actually, with the TAS graphic plugin... the normal fps speed is always 59.xx (or I din't find where I can fix this setting). That's could means that the fps autodetection have problem with sound synchronisation, I think this is too fast. (and this could be annoying to know exactly how long is the game in second/minute/hours) I'm not sure if this supposition has been already reported.. edit: And yes, in anyway, I'll definitly continue my work on this game, the actual route is huge, so there many chance that this first run can't be perfect(more than 4 hours to finish in tasing, as people think), so perfect sound, wont be necessairy too :D

nah, that's not the reason. Check your settings, especially in the cd-r plugin.

Kinda a bug If you use epsxe, with the peops plugin, it will overwrite the setting in pcsx, kinda annoying to have to setup eatch time the resolution when swaping emulators Shared registry settings ? :p

Yeah, that's registry. Nothing much you can do about that really unless you recompile the plugin. Or just use a slightly different one, jeez!

Anyone else have input troubles? I put my PS2 controller into my PC via a USB adapter, and it seems that no input at all is accepted by the emulator? I cannot get past the damned intro of Point Blank. It also crashes if I change Player 1's input from controller to Keyboard. (Player 2 is still set to keyboard) Even though I've changed the first controller input to Segu Direct Pad Pro Driver 0.4 and configured it... And upon changing it to mouse input ultimately lets it work but the movie file doesn't record anything.

Don't forget that any change in the settings requires reastarting the emulator.

Tried resetting and all that malarky. Took me a while to get the thing stable and prevent it from crashing because I didn't setup the CD drive correctly. Image below shows what I see. It's visually showing that all buttons are being held down. But while this screenshot was taken I was only holding down MouseButton1 (Which is set to Button Circle for Player 1) Link to image

I actually am having the exact same problem right now. I was able to get it to work with the keyboard once I deleted the whole program and re-booted everything, but upon trying to use my PS2 gamepad the keys locked up and would do anything anymore (no matter how many times I closed the program or switched back to keyboard because it didn't work either way). This happens with both the Segu and Nrage plugins.

I couldn't get the controller to work and I needed it to press more then two keys at a time so I just used a small program called joytokey, works great with my ps1 controller and solved my problem

that would resolve my other issue, unfortunately. It would not resolve my issue for a mouse form of input.

I have got pcsx-rr-007 (the most current version) and everytime I click "start playback" in the movie tab, it crashes! It is driving me insane, I have tried everything - changing plugins, etc. Any ideas on how to fix this? Many thanks.
