Whenever I start a CD I lose the tool bar with file, options, config ect. How do I do stuff like start a new movie while a CD is running or change config? And did anyone else find they couldn't get the D-pad on their controller to be configured?

I don't know of any way to record a movie other then on boot but you can change some things in your config by esc and then run cd when finished. As for your controller I recommend tiring joy2key And shouldn't this be in the emu forum

Hotkeys are great things, allowing you control over most of the emulator - including stopping, playing, and recording new movies - while the game is running. I suggest learning them (Tools -> Map Hotkeys). You can also press escape to get the menu back, and go to Emulator -> Run to get back into action. It's not bad at all. Ctrl N: Record Movie Ctrl T: Stop Movie Ctrl R: Play Movie Shift R: Play Movie from Beginning

what's joy2key? Is that a input plugin or some macro program or something? Ya the D-pad works on all other emu, snes, gen, nes, n64 but not pcsx

Joy2Key is a program that allows you to assign keyboard input to your controller. For example, if you assign the Start button in PCSX to the "r" button on your keyboard, Joy2Key can assign the "r" button to a button on your gamepad. That way, you can use your gamepad when you want to press Start, even though it's actually bound to a keyboard button. Joy2Key can be downloaded here.

Ok so I got it to work with joy2key, but I have a new problem. Whenever I load a state, it loads the state, but the emulation pauses, but the frame counter change to red and continue to count down, pressing hotkey to unpause doesn't do anything.

Red means the game is loading. If you savestate during a load it will screw up. You can't do anything when the game is loading anyway so wait for it to finish and it will pause again.

so you're saying I just have to wait for like 5 minutes or something, that would suck for making TASes; and does anyone have links to some better plug-ins, like sound, the default one does not to TM2 justice.

Don't know what tm2 stands for but if you use another sound plug-in there is an excellent chance your movie won't sync. If CD music is the problem then good luck

Twisted Metal 2. But I can't get the load save state feature to work, like I said it loads, but is paused, frames count up in red, unpausing doesn't work, stays paused for at least 2 minutes, doesn't matter when I load.

Actually, Savestate not in the loading of the game. Try saving the state when you are able to do some input. If you do a save state when the game is loading data, it will be corrupted.
