I'm new. I know that. I signed up like 10 minutes ago. I have a couple friends who frequent this forum, and I've been joking about it with them. Would putting a forum games sub-forum be worth it in a community like TASvideos? I've seen these sub-forums on most forums i frequent, and it's usually a good place to sit on the forums while waiting for replies, for instance. Introducing one might be slow at first, but I've found that lots of people end up posting there at least once. Yes, i know I'm new and haven't ever touched a tool for making speed runs, although i do know how to use some emulators. Is my radical change good for consideration though? I'm sure we could port over a couple games to start with, and a couple would spring up naturally from these forums.

It's not needed. If you want to pass time without actually doing anything just chill in #nesvideos and spam .cards and .dice or make a TAS. Petitions for NATE runs and changing gb to dmg are more fun than posting something that destroys what was posted in the previous post which destroys what was posted in the previous post which destroys what was posted in the previous post which destroys what was posted in the previous post which destroys what was posted in the previous post which destroys what was posted in the previous post which destroys what was posted in the previous post which destroys what was posted in the previous post which destroys what was posted in the previous post which destroys what was posted in the previous post which Invalid session, please resubmit the form. A game like this might be kind of fun though.

Tom? Yeah, this isn't you're normal forum. We are above this sort of material. Ah, I actually read all of that. Gah!

Well, as soon as phpbb supports frame advance and rerecording...

It would only spam the IRC channel on every post. So... no from my side.

I like "guess the game" type quizzes, and those have shown up here from time to time. There was also the code golf and various other things. Basically, if you want to play some kind of forum game, it should probably be OK to put it in off topic, as long as the game is not blatant spam. Don't overdo it, though. I don't think a whole forum is needed.

I'd err on the side of making and solving puzzles. Forum games that are just mindless postcount++, or things like roleplaying, wouldn't really fit in with the community here.

You could do that by only giving input files as information... that would probably be too hard/annoying though.

We sort of do that already. "How can I improve this movie?"

Hmm, have we scared off Generic_PC? He hasn't made any other post than this one.
