Anybody think they could do some dreamcast games? Sonic Adventure would be fun to watch (ie have different videos for each character) Also Skies of Arcadia and Grandia II. Those were great games. but they do take a LONG time to complete... Just some suggestions. I don't know if any of these would be possible. Any input would be nice. Thanks. Ev

Sonic, Skies of Arcadia and Grandia2 are very good games. I own the originals to thoose. Sonic could be fun. Skies of Arcadia may be a little booring to watch and to make it quick And the same to Grandia2, the only thing that is fun in that game is its uniqe battlesystem. :)

Maybe Shenmoue (spelling) ? I never really got far in this game and it would be pretty cool to see a speedrun for it i think. Im pretty sure u dont need to level up or that sort of stuff in this game, so it would be pretty interesting. Anyone who knows more about the game could maybe help with routes or confirm if this would actually be speedrun-able

Is there even a dreamcast emulator out for PC or Mac? It would be hard to record a speed run with out one... Marvel Vs Capcom 2 would be awesome to watch too... although it probably would be the same stuff over and over again. I just like the infinite combos... P.) -Ev

I have my doubts about a Shenmue speedrun/time attack. One of the problems with that game is certain events are timed and you cannot skip them. I didn't get very far but I remember one such event in the very first town. You have to meet some tough guys at a certain spot at a certain time despite the fact that they hang around town all day.

Sorry for reviving a somewhat dead thread, but I thougth that It would be better to do that than to create another topic... Are there any other sites which host videos of dreamcast games? I would really like to see some, so I'm asking you guys, the running pros, on the matter.

I don't think there are any sites that have DC games. You might want to check out http://www.planetquake.com/sda/other/other.html PS I stand corrected. There is one game for the Dreamcast there: Phantasy Star Online 1. If you find any other sites that host DC game videos I'd be very interested to see them. Good luck, Jeff!

Thanks. That was the only page that I had found too ;-) I kinda like the mixture of games there, viewing only NES-games is kinda boring in the long run. Therefore I like the good mixture of system on that page. I'll let you know if I find anymore dreamcastvideos.

Chankast is a decent Dreamcast emulator. (For others, go to www.zophar.net) But by decent, I mean I got it running. I downloaded it because I went through a mad craze to play Ikaruga at one point after seeing the videos linked on Arc's site. I could get to the title screen, but then no further(I know own the game on gamecube, thanks to a user here who hasn't appeared in awhile). But I wouldn't expect rerecording on this console anytime soon when GBA and N64 would both be far better choices. Nonetheless, Crazy Taxi would be pretty funny. Power Stone is a great fighting game and could be pretty impressive. And, of course, Ikaruga would be absolutely amazing.

If PS2 emulation w/ rerecording ever rolls around, Crazy Taxi can be done there. Or the GC for that matter (I think they released it for GC, didn't they?).

There was atleast one or two sites that hosted DC games avalible for download. But that was about one or two years ago. I think it went down. Can't really remember. They had annonymous FTP accounts avalible as well. I know that I downloaded some games. Wonder if I still have them around? Anyways. Dream cast games can be found everywhere. Direct Connect, Bittorrent, Emule etc etc etc... So there shouldn't be too hard to track down your games.

Would a DC emulator be able to play legit DC games? IE you put your CD into the tray and could play it that way?

Maybe if you could plug a GD-reader in your computer it would, by now, Chankast can only play pirate copies.

This topic is very quickly going down the illegal route. We should try to keep it in the legal realm.
