Before you get all "There's already a D/P thread!" and "Somebody should delete this, there's already a topic!" on me, let me tell you one thing. I know there is a D/P thread. However, I feel that if Platinum has alot of differences (mainly in battles, people such as a Scientist in the Eterna Galactic Building and the School Boy inside Jubilife's Trainer School using the X items; trainers now use seals; Galactic changing to their startegy being Glameow and Stunky; GIRATINA; changes in Pokedex (Togekiss FTW!)) and deserves a different run than D/P. On that matter; I was playing with the ROM on NO$GBA and have been jotting down thoughts for what I hope will be a Platinum Walkthrough (maybe, if I can get NO$GBA to save >:( and I was planning to use for strategizing (I hate spelling and the fact half my paragraphs are in parenthesis) an 8-gym leader run. I do realize a 4??-run would be very boring. (I still have to subtract what you can't get) But anyway, I'm almost done with my notes on up to Roark, so I might have that up sometime ;). *Glad to finally have time for TASes again!*

Unless you're getting the japanese version of platinum, you're certainly not getting it for christmas, as the current NA release date is apparently march 22. A couple of random points: 1) There isn't a ds emulator that's plausible to use for tasing at this stage. Desmume is the likeliest candidate for a ds rerecording emulator, but the project more or less stalled a fair while back when the main (only?) coder got interrupted by life, and pretty much said not to expect anything from him at any point in the foreseeable future 2) A 4?? pokemon run? that would be the least entertaining run I could possibly see happening. not only would it have ridiculous amounts of grinding, it'd just be horrendously repetitive with no worthwhile results entertainment wise. So yeah, unless you're fairly knowledgeable in the field of both programming and ds hardware (and bring desmume to an acceptable level of tasability), then I doubt you're going to get to tas this game anytime soon.

Yeah, took the 4-- part out. BTW, I never said that I was looking foreword to TASing the game. I'm doing the notes for IF there ever is a chance to TAS DS games, and using it for my own run-through when I play it normally. Eh, forget this topic.

I think NO$GBA ran this game as a ROM better compared to desmume. I think desmume froze the ROM up. And I always enjoy playing this game! Too bad it was japanese.

Not to bump or anything if I did, but I been freelancing at the American ROM of this game and I am still using the same emulator (NO$GBA). I started off by choosing Chimchar as my first Pokemon. I was able to fly through 2 gym leaders and barely getting through the 3rd. My in-game time so far is 5 hours. It's too bad that I can't the underground thing to work because it needs "DS communication features" or something. -_-
