I was following a TAS guide and everything worked out ok, but for some reason when I played back my movie, it was all in fast motion. Now whenever I open a ROM it automatically runs at the same speed. What can I do to put it back to normal speed?

Make sure Frame Skip is on auto, not on zero.

Where do I change that?

That's not the issue. Frame skip 0 will not cause a change in the speed playback for the faster, only for the slower, and only if you have an inadequate computer like I do. Frame skip 0 just says, "hey, if you can't handle the draw speed, too bad, draw it anyway" rather than, "don't worry about dropping animation frames for the sake of speed, it's cool." Frame skip 0 is a good setting. I use it on both my inadequate laptop and more than adequate desktop for the sake of ensuring that no frames go undrawn. Anyway. Config -> Speed -> Set Speed. Should be 100%. The default hotkeys for speed are '=' to speed up, '-' to slow down. If you're hitting = either by accident or because you've mapped it to another function, that's the source of your problem. You can change the hotkey settings by going to Config -> Hotkeys -> dropdown menu 'Speed'.
Kirby said so, so it must be true. ( >'.')>

The version I have doesn't have a config tab. I'm on v1.51. EDIT: Nevermind I fixed it. Thanks for the help though. I appreciate it :)

Go to Options -> Display Configuration (hotkey: Alt+F5). There, you'll see that frame skipping is set to Fixed. Set it to Automatic, and the game should run at normal speed.

You also might have set your turbo speed button on.
