just tried and no error, most likely you had the movie opened in your emulator or whatever other program than this. I recall it used to crash on that instance (cant save file locked by other program, ie. playing on emu), and I don't recall if I got to put a pretty error message instead of that crash. or you missed important data like movie format, i tried with vbm

I have problems with adding frames and saving. It isn't a new problem. Steps to replicate: - open any file - right click and select Add Frame(s) anywhere - save the file (yes to overwrite) I can send the error message I get via PM (it's long) if there is somehow problems to replicate it.
Oops, I mistakenly typed a logical OR instead of a logical AND in the parsing method! I'll make a hotfix right now.

This still doesn't work for me... did you upload the correct version? It is the exact same filesize as the one before. Or... I guess that is not so strange if all you did was change OR to AND. Perhaps I am doing something wrong.

Are you sure? I downloaded and tesed it just now. It worked (saved empty-frame-lengthened MMV files without crash) for me. The fixed one is of size 68.67 KB, while the old buggy one was 68.76 KB o_O EDIT: If you are still experiencing such problems with the fixed version, please PM me with the error message.

What i meant is that both executables (new and old 1d) are 262 144 bytes. The RAR is different size, yes. For me MMV works as it should also, it is GMV i have problems with. I'll PM the error i get.

post the full error here next time on your first post, that's the method with less steps to getting your issue solved :P, not necessary now of course klmz, if maximus doesn't reply once you think its all done and good I can upload the changes i guess, I can make a release if it's enough for that adelikat wanted once to host this on google code but since the tastools project doesn't list it I'm gonna guess maximus hasn't returned since.

v0-12-1f - GMV::Fixed file saving. - FMV::Fixed file saving. - ETC::Fixed detection of movie start type. - ETC::Handled a few IO exceptions. v0-12-1e - ETC::Fixed several shortcut keys. - ETC::Tweaked menu items.
@gia: I think I've done it for now.

I told adelikat i'd have no problems moving the project from sf to google code, but never heard anything back from him :P klmz, if you're interested in working on this more, shoot me a pm with your details and i'll add you to sf so you can commit to your hearts content :)

Every time I try to save a movie, I keep getting an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" dialog and the movie is never saved. I'll see if I can try to do a work-around.

It was an FCM out of FCEU 0.98.28, the .NET framework version was 2.0. It was fine after I saved it the first two or three times, but after then I get the unhandled exception dialogs.

Hi, klmz. I used this for my TAS of Micro Machines V3 and everything worked as expected. Thank you for adding PXM support. Also, it seems that link has expired, so I uploaded it again here: http://pcsxrr.googlecode.com/files/tas-movie-editor-v0-12-2i.7z
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

I've been using this again lately, and one thing bothers me: when I save, I get the question if I want to overwrite. I press spacebar to save. Now I get the popup message "xxx written successfully", but: - Another window is for some reason suddenly in focus, so I cannot press spacebar to clear the message. - If I click the OK button, the wrong window is still in focus. It's a minor thing but it messes up my zen keyboard shortcuts... it would be great if other programs didn't suddenly come into focus without me telling them.

I should have thanked you for helping test it. You are welcome.

What is the status of this for SNES9x 1.51? I see the note only 1.43 is supported. Is there any workaround?

The status of support of .smv movies of SNES9x 1.51 is that the lastest svn revision of TAS Movie Editor can only recognize but neither parse nor edit them. The only workaround I can think of now is to use a hex editor as a replacement until someone finish the support.

Quickhex has support for 1.51 movies. It's what I used for ActRaiser. https://code.google.com/p/tastools/wiki/QuickHex

From this thread: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11253 it seems the program doesn't do version checking, as such when the movie formats upgrade the header can be read wrong and things can go to hell.

Even Snes9X v1.52 dosn't do version checking! [/sarcasm] But yeah, I think TME should implement options to enable/disable known-versions-checking, and ask what to do when the user tries to open a unknown-version movie file when the checking is on.

lol, I'm surprised anyone still uses this tool :P It's getting a bit long in the tooth though, and might benefit from an overhaul. I haven't looked at the source in a number of years, but seeing as there were only about 6 emulators around when I wrote this (including Famtasia :P), it wasn't really built to scale. This community seems to have a lot of good coders in it, so maybe a new thread could be created to get ideas as to what the "ideal" movie editor would be ... Personally, I'd like to have the format specs not hard-coded into the application, so that they can be updated on the fly and new formats added/improved by non-programmers. Maybe a lua engine for extending the editor's functionality might be nice .... :D Also, something that runs natively on Win32/Linux/OSX .... Just my two cents ;)
