The player seems to stall frequently in Mario USA, which is a good strategy because all of the other games have timers; Mario 1 is finished way before the others, and then Mario 2, and Mario 3 is finished a few seconds before Mario USA, while the ordering of the individual published TASes is Mario 1, Mario USA, Mario 2 shortly thereafter, and then Mario 3.

Yes, I noticed that Mario USA stalled very frequently, in order for mario 2 to progress. Because mario USA is the longer run (in the quad play video), wouldn't it make more sense to stall mario 2, so that mario USA could progress?, so that the net completion time could be lower.

There's still the matter of Mario 3, which takes quite a while longer than Mario USA or Mario 2 when TASed individually; in the quad run, only a few seconds could be saved if Mario USA were sped up and Mario 2 stalled, and as I mentioned earlier Mario USA is the only one without a timer (and also its mechanics are very different from the other three), so it makes sense to stall on that one.

Hi, Nice to meet you. I am author of that run and I am improving that run now. If I finish improving that run, I will submit new run of this idea to TASvideos! But I am not good at speaking english. Well I can't explain enough *_*

Welcome to TASvideos! I thoroughly enjoyed your run, and i hoe to see more from you in the future! If you wish to improve your run, you probably want to use the USA version of super mario bros. 3. This is because people at TASvideos are generally picky about this kind of thing. As far as I know, there is no Japanese release of super mario bros USA, and no USA release of super mario bros. 2. Similarly, for super mario bros. the Japanese and USA releases are exactly the same, so you should be safe with those.

Thanks for information! I learned J version of smb3 is slower than U version of smb3 in "fade in" . So to use U version of smb3 instead of J version is to improve time. I'll use same rom as current TASes. ^_^

May I make a suggestion? If it takes relatively double the time to complete SMB3 as it does SMB1, perhaps do the SMB1 2nd quest as well?

That turned out to be surprisingly more entertaining, since not only was the route for SMB3 unexpected, but also you took the effort to end them all at once. :o

Nice, loved that little extra on slowing SMB down a bit because of how soon it can end. "Mario! JUST GET IN THE DAMN PIPE ALREADY!"

Wow that was really nice and it didn't take you that long to make (considering that the SMB3 glitch isn't that old)

The new gold standard for multiruns, imo. Doing the whole card-matching game in smb3 was a nice touch.
