You're not a thread admin. (Topics are not owned by anybody.) Also, you sound like a broken cd player. Repeating on same request over and over, even though it has already been turned down countless times. I don't support argumentum ad nauseam. I believe I speak for everyone (else) when I say this thread deserves to be locked (again).

Hi. Today, I have been thinking of a TAS video to make and even if I'm new, I know what is a TAS video. In the past, I saw Super Demo World : The Legend Continues TAS video and I was very surprised. If the video comes from here, big thanks! Well, now, I know that hacks aren't permitted but I want this hack to receive the special permission : Super Mario World : The Second Reality Project 2 : Zycloboo's Challenge Official Website of the hack : http://www.fpi-productions.de The hack is huge and very well done. Also, it's really hard to do even with savestates. So, I wonder what thinks the users/mods of this forum about this. Also, as I play it normally, I didn't experience any freezing or bugs that makes the user fail or such (ie. bad bugs). Comments? [Edit by Bisqwit: Threads merged.]

Is that the same as this here? Because if so, I think the question has already been answered as a fairly firm 'no'.

Yeah as discussed in the other thread (or threads, there were several), it's a fine hack but it wasn't accepted at this site. If you want to make a TAS of it though, you should by all means go ahead and do it for fun and post about your progress if you want, you just won't be able to submit it. The SDW video does indeed come from this site, I'm glad you liked it. There are several versions actually, if you browse around you might find an SDW run you haven't seen before.

Oh Fabian's too modest, he should have mentioned that he is one of the authors of one of the most recent (best) SDW runs!

I'm not running it for sure because I'm a big n00b. I would run in an ennemy right away. Anyway, I think you should reconsider.

AKA, your needsless and blantant many abuses are incompreshable and should kept to yourselfing. Lebon14, you may be surprised at how easy it is to pick up TASing if you're really interested in it. There is a Super Mario World Tricks page that has some information on the game, if you already understand the basics of TASing.

In the interest of kindness, though partially because I loved how retardedly determined funguy10 was towards his SMW:TSRP2 cause (seriously, read from page 8 onwards in the topic linked by mmbossman), I have provided the two three most important quotes from the whole topic which pretty much sum it up.

I played through the first world +1.5 levels of this game and was not impressed. The game is hard simply for the sake of being hard, the levels look like a bunch of sprites shot-gunned into a level editor, and I don't like the colors. Things that were added in to make the game seem new and improved, such as the death shrooms, the shells you have to bounce on twice to stop, and the block-activating-switch didn't seem to enhance the quality of play. It just seemed like they were put in because they thought adding new features would make their game a good hack or something, without regard to why they picked the features they did.

Guys, Quoted from the big man himself: [19:18:49] <Bisqwit> > It has to be notable (stands above every other hack for that game), for a good game, and stable&final (updates aren't to be expected), and entertaining to watch being played, and significantly different from the actual game I think this means we won't be having any more accepted hacks of the SMW engine, since if nothing else, they'd all (except SDW) fail on the first point.
By all means though, you're welcome to make a TAS, even if it isn't likely to be published here. Who knows, maybe Bisqwit would change his mind on the matter after seeing a test run. Failing that, I'm sure a certain 'rival' website would take your run at least. Edit: This could probably be considered somewhat important too:

In my opinion (based solely on the screenshots on its homepage), it looks too unprofessional. It is guilty of the following offenses: - Trying to cram everything between earth and heaven into that game - Lacking a consistent style. When I look at the screenshots, I feel like I'm looking at five different games. And the level design sometimes looks like it's straight from a random generator. Challenges for the sake of challenge, without a spirit behind. Graphics for the sake of graphics, without a connecting theme. What's Kirby doing there? Sonic level graphics? Too many of the screenshots are coloured like some carneval. It just cries out, "unprofessional". Does not reach anywhere near Super Demo World, except in laboursomeness. Though, SDW has some warts too...

^ I totally disagree with most of the statements above. I think it's a fairly beautiful hack even if it has a lot of imported graphics from Kirby and Sonic. The challenge is challenge and there's some pretty puzzle (and difficult). Like I said, I would like to see a TAS of the game not make one!! Anyway...

In that case... If all you are asking is for someone to TAS it and for Bisqwit to give special permissions to have it on the site, the chances of that happening are pretty much zero. I highly doubt enough has changed since the previous topic for this stance to change. If you do change your mind and decide to TAS it, there are plenty of resources to help you and some people that would gladly guide you through certain (though probably not all) aspects of TASing variants of SMW.

Sure, I'd help out. I doubt any existing SMW TASer would be interested in this though Lebon, especially since it won't be accepted on this site. AKA, lol

Yours looks faster in a lot of places jaysmad :) I'm sure mrz would do a much better job if he tried again today, that run wouldn't exactly raise any eyebrows.

I really wouldn't mind seeing a TAS run of this hack, I have played it before and failed miserably, and I want to see a "god" take it on. :)

Because of Nach's passionate request, I started working on an any% run of TSRP2 (I was just escaping from vip3 run :p). I just finished World 3 and here's a wip: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1741219661/SMW_TSRP2_Mister_W3.smv It is necessary to press the green switch, since MARIO CASTLE has neither a key nor a p-switch nor a springboard. I'm disapointed that the green switch can't be pressed in any other levels than POWER SUPPLY (the green swich palace), whereas the yellow switch can. If it were possible, I could definitely break this hack... Anyway, I need to exit POWER SUPPLY and then the total number of exits will be 55.

Thank you so much! :) I really liked Temple of Doom. It was also rather funny what you did to Construction Site. Also, great skip on Mysterious Pyramid. Lastly, I can't even begin to describe how awesome Devil's Rock was. Nice job so far!

Only 55 huh? I guess that means no Power Cats. Oh well.

Does this hack require TASing to beat, or could I beat it in real time without any tool assistance? Looks like fun.

I know players who bet this game. IT's possible, but it's hard.

I beat the entire game all exits without TASing it. I got another 3 friends interested in it who also did the same (one of those friends however abused save states for practically every jump throughout the game - but he sucks at Super Mario World too). I must say that some of the later levels were rather grueling though.

Well, at least it's possible. Maybe I'll give this hack a look sooner or later.

Hi there, I retrieved this project from its one-year long rest a few days ago. I'm wondering how long my motivation will last. :P I just finished HOT CHOCOLATE, one of the most hardest levels I think. Optimizing the red block parts always tires me out. My wips will be uploaded to http://code.google.com/p/mister-tas/ without any announcement. In this project, I want finishing it to have a priority over taking care of small improvements so I can avoid redoing repeatedly and can reach the end of the project easily. This never means I cut corners in my work, you know.
