More specifically, the person hosting the server lost their connection, and the whole thing crashed.

No, he switched to OpenGL from D3D and the program crashed.

Some fun was to be had in the #nesvideos bedroom: Bonus points for guessing the cartridge!

You throw it and it leaves a little train and makes a small explosion. It doesn't do anything though.

Though there's apparently a mod which incorporates weapon damage.

It would be great to build two castles in that outdoor level and go at each other with spears, breaking apart the other teams castle :)

When you have a block selected, click to place the marker, use the number pad to move the marker around until you like the placement, and then press enter on the num pad to place the block. If your paint is on hotkey 3, keep pressing 3 to switch colors.

Try finding servers from your country. They usually don't lag that much. I, for example, get about 50ms from Finnish servers. And if someone has spare bandwidth, they could create a dedicated #nesvideos server *wink wink*

I really wish there was some permanence to this stuff, so we could really build like, an entire cathedral of sprites. Would anyone be interested in hosting one for days? heh.

Raise the existing ground with some blocks, then place the flying block on top of the raised ground and then, hammer the extra ground down. Voilá, a flying block.
