Let's get something straight first. This game is WEIRD. The object of the game is to complete n number of 5-second "microgames" without losing 4 times. There are 11 such stages in the game, each with its own genre of microgame, from sports to nature to weird (no joke).
I wanted to try something different for my first movie, and I think I accomplished it. I aim for fastest time, but most of my time is spent making close calls and showing off. However, I didn't lose any time over that. The boss stages (especially Dribble and Spitz's) are the best parts of the movie by far.
I neither took damage (lost a game) nor died (game over) once.

Truncated: Rejected because of poor feedback, and I can understand why. A human player could have done just as well as this. And all the events are timed, so there is no way to speed anything up.

Hmm, i know that one should never judge a movie by its rerecord-count... but isn't 222 rerecords for a ~50 minute movie a little too little? Unless this game is super straightforward and supereasy to frameperfect, I don't see how you could perform a "perfect play" with so few rerecords... I won't vote on this yet though, because I haven't watched it.

Wario ware is all about reflexes, so with slowdown/frame advance it's not a big leap of faith to assume perfection won't require many rerecords.

Wario Ware has very little to optimize, the minigames have fixed length no matter what you do. Only the boss fights can vary in length and even those are often very straightforward. Kinda like speedrunning Gradius or R-Type. I haven't watched the movie yet but unless the movie does some seriously impressive stuff I'll vote no. Running fixed length games requires a VERY good justification.

what is "presicion"? does the rom have an intro? then i'd have to vote no.

Dunno if his ROM had an intro but it played on mine (okay, so I've only seen half of it so far) and mine didn't have intros for anyone besides Nintendo. I think the first Jimmy boss fight was way too slow. You can hit the boss much faster than that, return from your dodge on the first frame where you don't take damage and nail him. I'm pretty sure I did it in realtime with faster counters. And you let some enemies get away in the Spitz/Dribble boss fight, even if the bomb got them offscreen (doubt it, your score was too low for that) the viewer doesn't see that. It's an autoscroller FFS, there's no reason to let any of those escape, especially since it's easily doable to go 100% kills in realtime! Only seen half of it so far but it's damn boring, it's like TASing an autoscroller without potential for much playaround. Pretty close to voting no right now because no second half in the world could save that movie.

Wow, the movie seemed to crash VBA. That was odd. Right around the first minigame in the mad professor's level. X.x ...Anyway, it was alright, but I thought certain things could be done better. I know the minigames have set time limits, but you should still do certain stuff as soon as possible. Like catching the Wario Record at the very tip top of it and such. I do think that the sequel would be much more interesting to TAS, just for the fact that the twist patch is a bit sketchy and makes for some fairly tough games, even slowed down a bit. >_> That or I just sucked at them all. Voting meh. It wasn't great, it didn't bore me to tears, either.

At least in Gradius or R-Type the player has the option of moving up/down/left/right at almost any time. As you already know, a huge part of WarioWare is just waiting for the right moment to press a button. I haven't watched the movie, but I did play the original game thoroughly. Barring a major glitch, most of a WarioWare speedrun should be as pointless as a speedrun of Dance Dance Revolution.

I have no clue, but it it doesn't seem to run any different than any other ROM, or the actual cart for that matter. Thanks for the comments, guys, and yeah... major glitch?

Presicion is probably the release group in this case. A good number of roms often have release group names in them.

Hopefully something interesting? Major glitches (e.g., the way you can turn an ordinary boss fight in Rygar into the final boss fight), by their nature, aren't very predictable until you've discovered them. It might be interesting if the WarioWare game could be confused to the point that it let you skip many levels or if something equally weird happened. Otherwise, I don't see the point of trying to TAS this game.

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. Optimizations are very...well, I wouldn't say pointless, but pretty close to it for a game that has stuck fixed intervals.

During the Crygor boss you sometimes miss for a frame or two, considering how little there is to optimize in this game that shouldn't happen. At the Wario boss's block and boomerang part you wait for the block to come down before hitting it, you could have started damaging it much earlier by deflecting the boomerang off the walls, I think you can even do double-hits that way. Jimmy 2 has few Orbulon games, was that luck manipulation or just getting lucky and would it be possible to get the number down? And I suppose Orbulon won't give you any Wario games?

I'm going to give a MEH to this run. While indeed you played well, this game is a bit boring. You can change how you play each minigame, but it's still the same length and still a bit boring compared to other games. Make a better game choice next time.

I'm voting meh on this one also. It gets rather repetetive after a while, and given the length, this isn't a good thing. It looked like in most cases, you grabbed things on the earliest possible frame, which I found kind of lame. especially with the dropping pole, you always caught it from the very bottom of it. Overall, this is just a really bad choice of game for a TAS given the design of it.

I'll go meh on this one. I was mildly entertained, but the play value of this game might have warranted a run of 5 minutes, not 50. The games where they used classic games as inspiration were nice, but apart from those it got old fast. I suggest you take on a different game, something where you can actually make it shorter by using tools. ;) And posting WIPs on the way is a good practice if you don't know how you run will be welcomed here.

I like this game. I like playing it, that is. However, unlike most other games, I gained no entertainment whatsoever by watching someone play through perfectly, possibly because perfection is not all that much faster than horribleness. Well played, but there's not a whole lot that can be done to make this run entertaining. Voted 'no'

reviving topic... well aware how awfully this game is to TAS theoretically, but I LOVE this game, and want to see it demolished. Anyone ever encode this run? looked on youtube and there doesn't seem to be a comprehensive TAS. i'd love to see it.... anyone?

This is a question you should be bringing up in the GBA forums, not through Gruefood necromancy. And yes, I am very much aware of the hypocrisy by posting here. I'd suggest starting a brand-new thread for this game there, instead of necro-ing the old discussion thread should one exist.

To clarify what theenglishman said: If you are asking about an encode for this run/submission, this is indeed the place to ask, however it doesn't seem like one was ever made. If you want to further discuss the game and additional things not related to this submission, please do so in the appropriate thread in the GBA section (if one doesn't exist, you can create it, however please make sure you suearch thoroughly first!)
