Would be awesome to have a feature like Zsnes where you can pre-define what key combinations that you want to type. Since keyboards can't have to many keys pressed at the same time this would be a great feature. Especially in Mortal Kombat 2 where one of the fatalities require you to press 4 keys at the same time. Those being down, A, B, and Y (with default config in-game). I don't feel that re-mapping my entire keyboard is an alternative really. So if someone could take a look at Zsnes and make a similar tool for Snes9x it would be awesome.

I was already thinking about doing this, I'll see how Zsnes handles it. Also, it would be neat if there was some way to make recording 2-player games with 1 person drastically easier, like a button to toggle input being duplicated to another controller, and a way to set all the keys for the next frame without having to hold them all at the same time while hitting frame advance, so I'll see about these sometime.

Just make all the keys like caps lock. Turn them on or off with a press. Advance a few frames, change which keys are pressed. And repeat for several hours. If Gens gets this feature you can expect some new projects from me. :)

What i'd enjoy seeing in a similar context, would be SNES9x with the ability to map Load/Save State. I've been hoping for something like this for quite some time. While this may seem redundant, it's for those of us out there that prefer to use a controller (I use the PSX-TO-USB to play the games with a PSX controller), and for some of us who would like to activate save/load states in a split second. Holding down Shift+F# in a short amount of time, even if using the keyboard, can result in save states that aren't in a strategic place. I know about slow-motion, but the special version of Gens has spoiled me, restricting me from doing runs on SNES games for lack of having Bill around to Shift+F# or F# to save/load state. I request this get put in. It's extremely frustrating to have two buttons on my controller that I can use for something (L2 + R2), but will never get used. :(

But I don't know how to enable joypad buttons to activate hotkeys/save/load, I have no joypads to test such functionality with. You can map them to things that don't require shift being held, though.
