Hmm...
In Secret of Mana, you can do an ultimate attack early in the game. What you do is play until you get the girl or sprite. Have a second player control it. When in battle, equip YOUR character with a weapon you have a skill level of 2 or higher. Equip the SECOND player with a weapon that YOU have a skill level less than the one you just equipped yourself. Now, charge your weapon to the maximum skill power. Have the second player equip the weapon that you have charged. You'll see them being tossed to each other, and when his weapon gets to you, your power gauge will freak out and you will hear a chk-chk-chk sound. It fills up faster than normal and you can execute an ultimate skill attack even though it's at skill level 2 or something. You can use this over and over, naturally.
I wonder if this is also possible with only 1 human player controlling, should work I think with switching around. I'll try that later in the game, if this really doesn't work then I guess I gotta do this 2 player, if yes I think I will only have the 2nd player controlling by a human in boss battles, no one's that crazy to do a whole run with me.

You can't access the menus when you're charging your weapon. So you will probably need a second player to help you out there. Fortunately, other players can be added and removed rather quickly, so you won't need a second person, just a second controller to do the trick.

The Highness and me will co-operate on that one =], at this point I want to say some thanks for The Highness for offering his help, it's good to have a partner in such a long game. Atm I'm playing through the game once and place a savestate at every boss, so with the help of a savestate hacker we can test all bosses and what stats and levels we will need for them. We'll only do the bosses 2 player (controlled by human), everything else 1 player. I'll force my brother to do the bosses with me.

Yes it can but you woulden't gain time doing that. Atleast not that much. It's easier playing alone. On the bosses though it will be smoother to have more players.

So why not have it a solo game except the bosses =) If anyone wants to join in the main creator's fun anyway.

The last post about this game is pretty old ... Is the project still on? What's the progress so far?

Could also someone explain the glitch that ventuz made a movie of? Never got to see the video. I do think I know what he's talking about however, but I don't remember exactly what to do. I know you have to cast wall/reflect on an enemy so it bounces off and kills the girl, but that's about it :o

From what I saw in his movie, if you can reflect a certain spell off of a certain enemy and kill the girl, the other two characters get massive amounts of exp. MASSIVE AMOUNTS.

Nothing. I'm too lazy.

That's done, now for about 2 months... But no testing on the bosses, not even a single one. Maybe I'll do at least this sometime.

1. Cast Reflect (or whatever it is). 2. Cast it again. It will bounce and hit an enemy. Now the enemy has Reflect. 3. Cast a magic at the enemy. It will bounce and hit a party member. If the party member dies, the other party members (who killed it, obviously) get experience for the kill... which turns out to be, because of a glitch (you shouldn't be able to kill your party members in the first place), much, much more than most monsters give.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

Oh I thought it had to be a specific monster. Thanks. I might try to reproduce it on a cart to see how much experience is gained.

I did. But that's not what I call "progress" ^^. And I don't know if I even have the smv left

Please do, would love to see some progress beyond the first boss fight on this one :) I like the game very much, but i was never good at discovering it's secrets though. One thing about the magic system, as i recall the magic & weapon leveling up is quite different from the rest of the rpg's, because the leveling depends on how many creatures you have killed with your weapon or how many times you have casted spell X, instead of based in the ammount of experience you get. And at the end it did get a bit boring to level them up as they required a hundred monsters to be killed or spell casted a hundred times. Correct me if im wrong though, but this is what i remember from last time playing the game :)

You could post a movie of a clitch I found some years ago ... It happened when I was levelupping magic in Ice Country. I was just hammering nonstop Sabres to the sprite (I controlled the boy and accessed the magic window to the girl and just kept on casting sabres. Then I ran out of magic and used a walnut at the same time when sabre was casted AND sprite did a attack magic to an enemy. The games light/darkness went haywire, it stayed the same darkness what happens when you cast Freeze. Oh well.. I saved and quitted. When I continued the same game next day I noticed hero did only half the damage with his weapon than he did yesterday O.o He was at level 80 something and did over 400 damage with normal attacks. After that clitch he only did about 250. I don't remember what my stats were before clitch... When I started a new game I did 250 with my hero around level 50 or so. Grrr. Nasty stuff.

When I was fighting the boss (Santa) in ice palace I died. I somewhat got winded up out side the palace with the dialogue "Shame!" showing. Then all of a sudden I was facing the boss again.
