Looking for "Qix" on the forum only resulted in this, so I thought to create a new thread. I may decide to work on a TAS of Qix for the Game Boy, is anybody interested? A random search on youtube gives this link if you're not familiar with the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mds4FtZqfM. This guy doesn't play very well, though. If I do a TAS of this I'll always use the trick to complete the levels at 99% with the slow cursor (for levels with one Qix) and always split the Qixes for levels with two Qixes. My main question is, does this game have a real ending? Many games of that era just repeated themselves "ad infinitum" just becoming harder and harder, and I don't know if there is a real ending (wikipedia isn't being of help here). If that's the case, a 999999 points TAS (like Tetris) may be needed. Your thoughts?

Isn't this game the same as Gals Panic? That would be a bit more interesting than this one, and you can set standard rules like "-Gets 8 girls naked" or something.
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

The day FBA is approved for Arcade TASing (a man can hope!) you can stay sure I will TAS either Gals Panic or Miss World '96 Nude, probably even in a 2P fashion and whatnot. But there is no Gals Panic for the Game Boy (to my knowledge), and also I doubt it would be hot to see girls in 4 shades of gray.

Edit the palette to skintone colors, perhaps? :3 *brick'd*

890 made a TAS. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10941876 It looks like that he sets up the traps and catches the enemies. A year ago, I researched the game if it has a real ending. I found it has more than 50 stages. Probably it is endless. So I think it is a good idea to aim to complete 8 stages only. I'm considering improving his run and submitting the one here. Anyone interested in such a video?

I didn't really enjoy watching this video. Probably mainly because I'm not familiar with the game. I would like to see a full Alleyway TAS (did you make that improvement?) though I'm not sure if that would get accepted.

Yes, that improvement is mine. Actually, I'm not considering making a full Alleyway TAS for now. 890, one of the TASers of Alleyway said he have stopped making his run. That took my motivation away.

Does after the 8 stage, the game is getting harder(more enemy/faster), or it just reset with the same thing as level 1? In that case, starting from savestate could be interesting. If you think about an "as fast as possible" run(capture 75%), I doubt it would be that impressive, but some people might enjoy it. 50 stage!? I can't say if this is endless, maybe using some cheat could help to confirm... but aiming for a specific score, could be an another idea, as well.

According to comments on 890's Qix TAS, the game resets with it after the 16 stage. But you need to beat the game at 90% after the 40 stage.

I remember playing the Windows edition/variation/knockoff called Jezzball. Shit was mindblowing at the time. Possibly a playaround TAS? Draw faces, or write out messages?
