Five months and no answers, um... I think the project was forsaken... anyway, I have some free time on my hands now, and I'll give it a try.

Thank you antd, I tested all plugins with all possible configs, even PcsXbox the Xbox port of the emulator was tested, but looks like it's an emulator and not a plugin issue, 'cause ePSXe plays it just fine, anyway I gave up.

You already gave up, but anyway: !!!!!!!! CLICK HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!! vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=179164#179164 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (Link to the second reply on this same thread.) 100% tested on PCSX. Hopefully it will help somebody else in the future, though it's still buggy, like everything else in the current version of PCSX-RR.
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

Will you try the 'any%' or '100%' run?

Hmm, his sig says "good ending" which demands at least 50 mudokons to be saved. However, every other test run I've seen (as in by antd and fusionbly) have always been low% and no mudokon saving sections have been optimised. Saving only the required number of mudokons (that is, one, unless some glitch is found) might make for a less stress-inducing TAS.

I guess antd is still working on his any% run, so I'm testing the 100% run, aka good ending. /you're right, too much work to save those Mudokons...

here's my first attempt, but I need some help to proceed with my test run. I've tried everything but I can't pick up more than one grenade at a time... the YouTube description says "hold square to do this", but it's not working, am I missing something? Sorry to ask such a question, but how it's done?

Crouch next the the object, facing away from it. Hold square, then turn to face the abject, then face away and repeat =) However, you can only do this so many times and the game tends to crash when you use an object that you've obtained this way (at least for me, anyway...)

Thank you MTGjumper, but still only one grenade here :( I guess it's my CD Rom image that is a fixed version, but not sure. I'm using this image: Oddworld - Abe's Oddysee [U] [SLUS-00190] (the guy in YouTube also said it was fixed in the PC version too...) edit: It worked, YAY!!! Thank you MTGjumper, the problem was my image file.

Dooty, PSXJin has been released today. I just wanted to let you know that I look forward to your TAS of this game. Could you post some WIPs when you start working on this?

Thanks Zeupar. I'm testing the game on the new version of the emulator, but it works better on PCSXrr with a plugin mz posted here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=179164#179164 by the by, here's a test I did some time ago: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1425129969/new-movie.pxm I guess an 100% run of this game will be pretty boring, since you can only talk to one Mudokan at a time.

PSXjin is currently actively being worked on, so maybe you could make a bug report detailing some of the things that could be improved. I'm sure they'll get to it eventually.

Thank you Dada, but it is quite difficult to implement the Abe's fix on PSXjim according to DarkKobold. anyway, I'm doing a test run on PCSXrr, and it will be useful to: * find the best strategies to save some Mudokans * grenade management (as the game hangs if they are used in wrong places) * test new places to use the known glitches I'm also testing a "warp glitch": sometimes when doing a "fall through floor glitch" Abe teleports to somewhere else, it may be useful for the any% run, or so I hope.

Sounds very good :) Keep us posted! Too bad it doesn't work in PSXjin yet, hopefully it will be fixed by the time you start working on your final run. Although it doesn't matter that much, PCSX-rr is still an accepted emulator of course.

Okay, I'll need 8 Grenades to complete Rupture Farms: 1 to kill two Sligs near the first Boom Machine 1 to kill one Slig and a Chant Droid below me 1 to destroy the Mines near the fourth Door* 1 to kill a Slig near the second Boom Machine 1 to destroy a Mine below the second Boom Machine 1 to kill a Slig above the third Boom Machine 1 to destroy a Chant Droid near the third Boom Machine 1 to kill a Slig near the Elevator* (* must be thrown from a specific spot or the game hangs) I'll grab them all from the first Boom Machine, but unfortunately, Abe can't carry any of 'em from Rupture Farms to Stockyard Escape. edit: um... sometimes one frame is the difference between a success or failure of some strategies, so I'm not doing a test run anymore, but a final run instead. edit2: I'm kinda pleased with the results so far, but 8 Grenades is not enough, there's a Chant Droid near the second Boom Machine that must be eliminated. edit3: ...and a sleeping Slig near the third Boom Machine, so 10 Grenades will do. (not sure if grab them all from the first Boom Machine is faster though...) Rupture Farms done: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1845842003/new-movie.pxm /Google for this CD Rom Image: Oddworld: Abe\'s Oddysee (PSX) English The .7z file contains: - Oddworld.bin 685 574 kb - Oddworld.cue 1 kb

Another wip, up to Scrabania Temple. again it's a pity Abe can't carry items from one stage to another: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/955465312/new-movie.pxm I'm trying to reproduce a glitch I saw on YouTube where Abe controls those red dogs, the Slogs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2_EVDqzm3E edit: easier than I thought, just say "here boy" and let the Slog kill the Slig.

I'd like to watch this, but need an encode. Gratz on the pretty quick progress you've made.

Thank you AKheon, I'm redoing some stretches of Scrabania, there's some tricks in this video that will save time, like exploding mines while hanging from a ledge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxxrOkxPYbQ&feature=channel edit: here's the new wip, 00:21.80 seconds (1308 frames) faster than before: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1699463573/new-movie.pxm (sorry for the lack of encodes, but my internet connection is way too slow to upload them) edit2: there's a nasty bug in this wip, I can't get any more rocks... I'm fixing it right now. edit3: bug fixed, remember me to never grab a rock while rolling again... all the way to Scrabania Temple was also redone and improved a little bit. There's just one door left in Scrabania Temple to do before a new wip.

Scrabania Temple done, here's a new wip up to Paramonia: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/996947057/new-movie.pxm edit: it's possible to use the "dead Elum" glitch in Paramonia too, but the game hangs when he is eating the honey... edit2: good, I managed to pass the honey without hanging the game, also, fixed a mistake in Scrabania, there's no need to kill a Slig there.

Are you using an NTSC or PAL image?

NTSC. I have three images here, but only one of them sync with the movie. (the one I suggested to Google for in the above post) by the by, here's the new wip, up to Stockyard Return: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/348155715/new-movie.pxm edit: um.. I'm at Rupture Farms 2, the most difficult stage of the game, -> progress here will be a lot slower due to route planning and grenade management. the in game timer is 0:40:00, seems it will be sub 1 hour.
