Hey, Abe here. I'm not exactly sure when and how I firs visited this website, but I think it's the 0-Star Super Mario 64 video that lead me to this website. My big dream is being able to do as much Playaround TASes as possible. However, given that I only have the skill to be able to TAS on the ZSNES 1.51, and because even sometimes it will screw up on the playback, I desire to search for help on my quest to be a master of Playaround TASes. TL;DR - New player searching to be the master of Playaround TASes, while only having the skill to use the ZSNES, which unfortunately screws up the playback occasionally. So...hi. :3
This be your first timing seeing me, yes? Don't expect me to be the Uber TASer, because I'm not. =/

Hello and welcome to this site, enjoy your stay! You may want to try out Snes9X which is the preferred emulator for SNES movies on this site (although ZSNES is also allowed), because it's quite a bit more desync-proof. Either way, hai

I seem to be having problems with it, already. First off, there is a giant black border around the game. Second, I can't even find the slowdown or frame by frame. =/

Giant black border around the game? Are you running in fullscreen mode? If so, it might be that you don't have "Stretch Image" enabled You can reassign hotkeys such as frameadvance and slowdown under Config > Hotkeys...

Thanks for pointing out about the Stretch Image. However, I don't even see a Config tab. All I see are File, Options, Input, Sound, Window, Cheat, Netplay, and Help. I'm using SNES9X v1.43. Is that the wrong version? =/

It should be under either Options or Input, then.

Neither has the Hotkeys. Options has: Display Configuration: Which changes the screen and has the Stretch Image that you mentioned. Settings: Which has Freeze Folder Directory, Auto-Save S-RAM, Skip at most, and Skip Rendering. SPC7110 Pack Configuration: Which has 3 choices: Load All Data into RAM, Load Some Data into RAM (Number needed), and Read all data from file. GFX Pack: Graphics packs for certain games. Input has: Joypad Configuration: Which of course, configures the controls. Enable Multitap 5/Mouse/Super Scope/Justifiers No hotkeys. I must have the wrong version then. =/

For new TASes, you should use snes9x-rr 1.51v6: http://code.google.com/p/snes9x-rr/downloads/list

Thanks. ^_^ Also, I can't help but to think that the file just made it look REALLY similar to VisualBoyAdvance. It just does. XP Edit: Unfortunately, it IS like the VisualBoyAdvance. The problem is that with the recording, if I use a save state, the video will show that I was using save states. =/

In the Display Configuration, uncheck "Display messages before applying filters" there should be something similar available for VBA

No, I don't mean like that. For example, in Crash Bandicoot, The Huge Adventures. You just walk along, speeding through, but then when you fall down a hole, you use a save state to get back up. However, when the video is made, it still shows you falling down the hole, and jumps back immediately to right before the hole. Am I using the wrong compressor or what? =/ Why do I keep doing the =/ too much? =/

Are you recording an AVI while TASing? That's not necessary, since you just have to record the input file and you can create an AVI by replaying that said input file and recording the AVI then.
