i enjoy the idea of tasing, and consider myself a casual taser (Very casual). but i enjoy competing in the zelda 64 tas challenges (hosted at zeldaspeedruns.com) and the sm64 challenges (sm64.com), i was wondering if there are any challenges like these for other games (start at a certain place, and the goal is to do something short and specific, usually takes less than a minute of real time). thanks

Nope, there aren't any challenges like those for other games. But it sounds like a lot of fun; maybe you can start one of those with other games. The closest thing we've had here are the "Dream Team Contests", where we TASed, from start to finish, Super Mario Land 2 and Ranger-X in just one week. But those contests were with teams and we don't really do them very often. :P
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

If you want to continue doing the sm64 competing we host a contest at sm64.org but I think it would be really cool to see these for some 2d games, Say start here pick up this get here. See who completes it the fastest, that would be cool.

The speedrun competitions forum is only for Non-TAS related material (and obviously doesn't get used much. Might as well post in the General Forum, because I wouldn't really consider it "Off Topic." The best "TAS challenges" seem to be ones that give opportunities for creative solutions, so perhaps keep that in mind.

I really like this idea. In a couple weeks when I'm back at school, I would love to participate. Sounds like a really good way to start learning my way around more advanced TAS concepts.

Here is the main page of the SM64 TAS competition, if anyone would like to participate. There may also be a SMW TAS competition here.
