http://code.google.com/p/tasvideos-moviefiles/ If you like a place to download all the published nonobsoleted movie input files on this site (up to #1672), you can grab it at the link above. The movies have also been renamed: game name first, system second, publication number second last, author(s) last, with optional tags for branches and versions. The input file renaming thread which I got this idea is at: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8878 I plan to use the google code project for other organization purposes as well (movie review, sync checking) but such use will occur slowly due to how difficult it is to do.

Good idea. Have you hooked this into the publication process so it's automatically updated, or are you doing it manually?

He seems to be doing it manually (aria of sorrow all souls doesn't have a movie number). I think only adelikat and Nach have the authority to connect this to the publications.

It seems like the zip file could be automated by the site. However, the standardization of the Pub'd movie files seems like it would need to be done by hand. That said, it'd be nice, since this work is already done, to replace all the movie files on the site with the proper file names.

Coming from experience I can tell you that it's a pain in the butt to do this manually. Good luck though, I would definitely appreciate the ability to download all the current movies for archival purposes.

I did it too. It's tedious, but not hard, and took a lot less time than I thought it would. Keeping it up is the hard part, but if this could be married to the publication process, that might be taken care of.

I understand your opinions. Unfortunately, according to the admins, it is almost impossible to change the names of input files on this site without breaking it. That's why no work has been done for the movie file renaming project. (Technically there are two names, one for the ZIP and one for the input file within.) As for this archive, I don't have the know-how to hook a file (one which is on another site) to the publication process, and due to incompatible naming standards and other stuff, it may not be a good idea. So there really isn't a choice. Keep in mind that although I am doing this manually, and it may seem a lot, I'm spending a fraction of the equivalent effort that I would in making a TAS.

The archive has been updated to fix a couple bugs. Thanks, arkiandruski. I have also included another archive, with the same movies, but renamed so that the TASVideos publication number is listed first, with 5-digit padding. Oh, and before anyone asks, I used a C++ program to re-rename them.

Another update, almost a month later. - Movies go up to number 1694. - I have included an archive with all input files ever published on TASVideos, publication number first. It has replaced the archive with only non-obsoleted input files, publication number first.
