1 player warpfull run. 1:23 faster than FODA.
Ok, there's so many tricks and glitches used in this run that I won't write them here. Instead, I am thinking writing a Battletoads tricks page with the help of FODA if he wants.
  • Death used to save time
  • Manipulates luck
  • etc..

DeHackEd: Processing. I'll try to keep the video quality good.

I had no idea that toads could fly! Even though I don't know very much of this game the movie was impressive! I voted yes. Great run.

We have:
  • 2-player with warps
  • 1-player without warps
And now Phil submitted 1-player with warps. What do we do?

Like FODA said before, a 2 player run cannot beat a 1 player in time due to a stupid bug. So he suggested this type of run and I beat his time. Though, I will let people decide. I will be neutral. Bisqwit: I suggest you to watch it first then see.

This was just amazing! Will we be seeing a warpless version that uses all these new tricks any time soon?

Battletoads should have 2 movies: - 1 player warps, to show fastest completion possible - 2 players warpless to show all levels and a lot of showoff I would give a star to 2 players warpless but because of the annoying level 11 bug i think now that the star needs to go to this movie.

This movie wasn't too bad. Actually it was so good Phil and Genisto deserve a ninja level-up. About categories: I agree that we should switch to 1-player with warps, and 2-player without warps.

Fixed for people who like binary. Or people who happen to be crazy and have lots of disk space.

Well, Battletoads is an excellent and tough game. An ideal game to timeattack. It deserves all 4 possible movies.

The FCM link for the published movie is broken. And, speaking of broken links, it would be nice if the site actually returned some kind of error messages if the user tries to download a movie file that doesn't exist instead of just giving a blank html page.

Ah, apparently Dehacked wasn't listening when I said at IRC that the "&" symbol causes problems in movie filenames. Yes, I admit the error message could be better... I renamed the file.
update movie_file set filename='phil,genisto2-battletoads.fcm' where filename='phil&genisto2-battletoads.fcm';
update movie_file_storage set filename='phil,genisto2-battletoads.fcm' where filename='phil&genisto2-battletoads.fcm';
delete from smallcache;
Try reloading the page and using the updated link.

I played this game to death two player. I completed level 11 with 2 players before. I have gotten to level 11 with nesticle and with an actual nes, and nester. I remember the bug in one and I do not remember the bug in the other. I know that it is possible to do two player. I am pretty sure that it works on a real nes because I remember getting pissed at the nes advantage because if you hold it a little crooked then you die. I haven't played the game in years and I have never posted here before but if I get flamed or something I might have to capture a nes movie of my own, old school, no cheats, real nes, 2 players and prove it can be done. I beat the game in like 8th grade, 2 players with a game genie, and then I beat it again like 2 years ago without a game genie.

that's highly unlikely, but if it's true I would let somone take a dump :D I think the most likely solution is that it is not being emulated properly. The controlls DO respond differently in this level than any other. In all the other levels you have 8 way controll. In this level you have 4 way controll (like pac man) like I said, if you hold the controller at a teensy diagonal you go way slower. I could see this getting missed by the person debugging an emulator pretty easily. The other reason I could see it getting missed is because there is a plethora of other buggs in the 2 player version that are Rare's fault.
