Well guyz, I'm almost finishing the plans for begin the Tas, I'm finding the best ways possible to beat quickly, but i dont have much time so it may take still a while, yet i got another problem in hand, its the emulator, when i record a video it goes well on input command but it seems not to work with mouse commandos, I recorded a bit for a test and then when i replay it, it didnt answered the mouse commandos, only the inputs, what it should be ? how should i be able to make a movie play that answer to the mouse commands?

Try using a different version of the emulator. I suggest using the newest version of Snes9x 1.51 that can be found here, such as (currently) this. The mouse-based input should automatically work in that version. (I know there is a 1.52, but I don't recommend using that for TASing, at least not yet. Also, in versions such as 1.52 that are missing the "automatically work" feature, I think you have to press 7 twice for it to work.) I don't know if you saw this, but here is a Lua script you can use (and should use if you're serious about making this TAS, unless you have or can make something better), and be sure to beat Garam2 in 4"06 or faster (Falcon, hard mode).

Did a couple of quick strategy tests for myself out of curiosity. With the right pattern it looks like it's possible to nail Garam2 in under 3"00 with both the Falcon and Tornado on Hard mode. The times I got were 2"63 with the Falcon and 2"36 with the Tornado. With optimization (determining the earliest possible point to score the one-hit kill shot) it's likely possible to cut those times down even further, but those are probably good baselines to work off of.

Yay u,re right about Garam, with good optmization its possible to defeat him under 3 seconds, I already did him dying under 3 seconds but im trying to improve a bit more because im sure its possible, thanks a lot for ur infos, it will help a lot ;p

Nitsuja said about a trick that should help save some time, the "adjust screen aim" it surely will work well to viscount since he will be the only one to go far from screen... thanks a lot for the advice ;p, later i send you a video of the run but i cant now because I'm very busy with work and stuff and dont have much time to continue the run, thanks aagain for everyoone who is helping me

I did a quick test with Falcon and u´re right, there can be improvments, i got 2"56 on him but i fell there can have a bit more improvments, I will work on tornado now to find an improvment

I'm not sure how it is on Hard Mode, but I do know that on the default difficulty Viscount will dodge a bomb if he isn't busy trying to attack you and then go way off screen and take forever to come back. Other than that I hadn't really noticed that occurring at any other time. At least for the default difficulty I know of an extremely difficult strategy to take down Viscount in around 12 seconds. It requires extreme luck with his attack pattern and then being able to be extremely accurate and timely with your shots. In my opinion, perfect for a TAS strategy. I also have a 10 sec. strategy for Viscount with the Tornado. When I have the chance I'll give these a test on Hard mode to see if they'll translate over. Also, a couple of my observations while playing the game: - If there's a part on an ST that's easy to destroy, it's usually a good idea to destroy it asap as this sometimes does a fair amount of damage fast - Bombs typically aren't good for damage, but if you use them right, you can sometimes buy yourself an extra charge and that can make a huge difference

Gave both of those Viscount strategies I mentioned earlier a try. It looks like neither of them will work. I'm not really surprised because they require a fair bit of charging time; time you don't have in Hard mode.

About Garam; oops, I didn't realize uncharged shots worked to manipulate him to jump earlier than normal. Is that what you're doing, or did you find a way to manipulate his behavior before the fight even starts so that he decides to jump immediately? Also, I guess I'm more sure that the time of 5"50 on Wong (with Falcon, without bombs) will be harder to beat, since there was no waiting for Wong to do anything, though maybe it's possible to go a few frames lower. I've seen lower Falcon times posted for Wong, but they used strategies that don't work on Hard mode because he holds the shield differently on Hard which hides the shoulder joint weakness while he's moving sideways. Then again, I did once see him turn the shield the wrong way for a split second, so maybe it's still possible to hit it early somehow. As for "Adjust Aim" abuse, doesn't Griffin always start out by dropping way below the screen? If the aim is adjusted before the fight, you can hit him with bombs or charged shots during that time. I don't know if it will end up speeding up that fight, since you might want to charge during that whole time anyway, but it opens up more possibilities to try.

My personal observations for Garam are that he doesn't ever jump right away in a battle against the Falcon on default difficulty. He will against the Tornado, sometimes. In hard mode, it appears he will jump right away more frequently, granting the chance for a properly placed shot to down him really fast. As for Wong, on default it's possible to down him in under 5 seconds. On the console I may have gotten as low as around 4"80, but it is definitely possible to be slightly faster than that with ultra-precise timing.

Garam: Well, about Garam actions, i´ve tried many times press input to change his actions but it didn´t work to me, most of the manipulation i did on him i had to reset the whole game and try until he make his action, but uncharged bolts sometimes works on somes boss. Wong will be pretty a challenge with falcon because of his weak point that is very exposed on default dificult but hide at hardest, so the best weak point i found on him is on his forehead, which is good to use a lv1 bolt to make him expose his triple cannon which is his weak point too (will glow red) and then try to charge at least an yellow bolt to make massive damage and then finish or shot a blue bolt at his shield , it will make his should junction exposed for a fast moment, then u can shot it to make some massive damage too... with Tornado it will be pretty easy, however the time maybe will be longe than falcon because i have to charge 7 bolts to kill him in a single shot and its seem to charge longer than a triple charge from falcon but surely there may have some way to faster time... i did a time of 5:58 on hard without tas but using savestates... about griffin maybe the "adjust aim" strategy work here but i got another one for him, this one requires very much luck on the attack pattern, a 10 bar charge (max charge) and a perfect shot can kill him ... but on hard mode it requires a lot of manipulation since enemys attack freneticaly here... a way i found about his attack pattern are that ... battle begins, we fall, he shots a lv1 charge pellet that MISS me (yeah avoiding here is sometimes possible) it will help me build the charge, then i charge 2~3 bars before he attemps to next attack, i use bomb, bombs nullifes shots and give a stun moment which helps to increase bars,so his next attack will be a double feet level 2 charge shot which take some time, so the charge will be ready to deploy, shot it at head/shoulder/neck area (very very precise or else the shot just will make 97/98% damage)and then he dies instantly and giving you a good time around 11.xx seconds, i dont remember very well now but i will make tests with tas heh! ;p

yeah , on hard mode there is a hard way to beat him in like 12 seconds =(, the best time i got on his was around 14~15 seconds but i didnt use the adjust aim yet to give a try which maybe if i sucess it may help save some time. wong will be easy with tornado since a 7 charge bolt can killhim instantly ;p but I'm lokking if there may have some better strategies to him

Note that Wong's mech has a weak point at the very bottom, you'll see it as an orange rectangle if you have the Lua script running. It's extremely hard to hit because of the wall, but a treble shot there with Falcon will take off 55.5% of his health and also expose the triple cannon weak point. Also, maybe you've noticed this before, but whenever he raises his shields up while he's facing you, there's a tiny (1 or 2 pixel wide) area of his shoulder joint exposed on each side.

yeah about wong i noticed that orange rectangle... thats very hard to hit, i didnt notice the small points under hhis shields when he lift it looking at me... there gives a good damage too but have to manipulate him to make him show it earlier, should be faster and easier than hitting the bottom place which requires a precisa charge and timing... hmm i would like some more patience because I'm still very busy at work ;p... sorry for that

Well, thats strange about wong, i did somes strategies and my time was the same with 2 strategies... 5.60 ... i did hit the 2 pixels point junction arm and then shot him in the forehead with a 2nd charge... and i did 7 charge bars and got the same time... thats very strange how they did equal results

I would suggest you post your WIPs after every boss. Your WIP thus far looks surprisingly good for the number of rerecords. I wouldn't have thought this game was that easy to optimize. However, I'd like to go on the record as thinking that Real Mode shouldn't be used, because it eliminates the storyline elements, which I personally enjoyed a lot when I was playing the game.

All right then, I post a WIP after I finish every single bosses... Well before re record i just try it frame by frame hmm and I'm having great luck on optmization heh! ;p Well, you´re right about real mode... it kills the storylines and you dont even see a single face or chat until the end...but also removes a lot of the known hard gameplay... which should be the ace of the video... since in real time its almost impossible to do such times and quick shots with such precision ,however, in hard mode the ST defenses are the same as in the normal mode... its just change is the boss pression over you. Doing on Normal mode should save a lot of In-game time but should take more real time since there are many dialogues...

Oh I forgot to say one thing... how that RNG thing works here? because I did Garam behave how I wanted ... but i couldnt use inputs to make him behave different... i had to choose a diferent route to make him behave the way i wanted

If you want to know more about how the RNG controls enemy behavior, you're gonna have to do a lot of research and most likely disassemble the ROM itself to figure it out.
