Hey there. I'm new TASVideos, and the TASing scene in general. I spent this morning setting up Snes9x ready to play around with a few games when I ran into a problem. It might be a simple oversight on my part, but I can't seem to find a solution myself. When I got File -> Movie Record, the dialog box shows as normal. When I elect to 'Record from Now', the movie will save, record and playback perfectly fine. However, whenever I select 'Record from reset', no mater what I do, I will get an error that says "Movie file was not found or could not be opened", and it will refuse to record at all. How do I fix this, so that I'm able to record videos from a reset? I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit and using Snes9x v1.52 - Most other settings are default in the program.

Try using the TASVideos modified version of Snes9x v1.51 (available from the sticky thread at the top)

I had this problem with the very latest version (rr 1.52). I had to go to 1.51 as well to get it work (specifically this one).

If you REALLY want to use 1.52, like i did, after that box comes up, close it, then hit pause and play the smv with read only unchecked. It should be paused at frame 0. Make a save state, and then load it, and you'll be recording from frame 0.
