Ok, yeah, it was definitely faster to get into the ship the other way. And pretty cool too :P Ice beam hurt me a bit here, since it shoots slower, which makes taking out some of the blocks in Brinstar a bit of a pain. Still, didn't lose me nearly enough to outweigh two pause screens. Smv

Amazing work so far, Cpadolf! Big improvement and great style!!! I liked the new route and the way you used the speedball to break some blocks instead of bombing them.

WTF? You clearly hit the door with that Shine Spark. I don't know why that happened but, maybe it was due to the door not being a normal door. Have you tried it on other doors like that one? That's some really weird stuff!!!

Can't watch the smv (don't know which version of Snes9x to watch it with), can someone encode a quick avi?

Here you go Cpadolf!!! BTW I played it in 1.43 like all SNES TAS videos. http://www.zshare.net/video/926898825f68c019/ I didn't even realize the weirdest part until now. After he crashes into the wall he gets stuck in it. Also its still flashing as if hes still Shine Sparking!!!

Couldn't open it with Snes9x 1.43 (which in the one I always use, too). Anyway, I've had that happen to me a few times while TASing this. It can happen in a lot of places, maybe anywhere. I assume that it just has to do with positioning. The creator of the hack has changed how the shinespark works a bit. Instead of getting up to 15px/frame and staying there like it does in SM vanilla, it oscillates between various values between 8.0 and 9.0, so I guess this is some bug that occurs as a result of shinespark not working as it was designed to do. Btw, Kriole, where you testing for something in particular there? I'm asking since it looks like that video has my TAS as a starting point (same ammo/energy/equipment), and I'm curious :P

Interesting, but do you stay stuck in the wall or can you get out?

Just checking if it can't be improved. I saw that you shot the door higher than you needed to. Also your edgehogging is suboptimal - you're not supposed to be locked in the turn animation when the debris crumbles. Pie Should be hexable. Edit:

Don't think you ever get out. Samus has to actually hit a wall to stop (or run out of energy, not relevant in this hack however), and since the game doesn't really think she ever does, she will just keep sparking.

Wow that sucks, especially if it happens while just playing through it!!!

Hmm, for some reason I still can't watch this smv. Which is weird because the one you posted a few pages back went just fine. Did you actually save anything on that door, or was it just the egehogging? (because I have already remade that second room for a different reason)

Do you want me to make it into a video file? BTW it could be the Rom Hack your using.

This is actually all the way back to the Speedbooster room, with the level 1 locks. I didn't do anything more on the door. I tried, but I got nowhere.

Don't really get why I can play his movies but he can't play mine. This is kind of odd. Anyways, the difference won't be noticed in an AVI, don't think you should bother.

I can play both of your movies. That's pretty weird he can't play yours though. Well I have the .avi ready it he wants to see it. I would just have to upload it.

Might be that it starts from a savestate. I don't see why that would make it not work, but it's the only difference between the movie you posted on page two and the ones you have posted now. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I know what to do so I don't really need to see it. I'll see if I can hex it in, there might be some luck stuff that screws me over, but it should probably work.

I'm I allowed to post the hacked rom here? Maybe because you guys don't have the latest versions. If you can download it, I can put them both on Megaupload if you want?

I don't think you are allowed to do that, and that shouldn't be the reason anyway. If it was, the movie would still run, but desync.

@lxx4xNx6xxl: thanks :D I watched them! You did it really nice while getting Speed Booster, Kriole! That method I've never ever think of :P And with "WHUT", it normally happens in my TAS, and it even waste frame, since you have to avoid it happens (if it happens in real-time play, you have to Pause and un-equip SB)

No problem man, anytime!!! At least in real time you can stop it from being a reset. Speaking of real time. I'll probably be streaming some practice sessions for my next Segment of the real game this Saturday coming up. If you guys are interested I'll post the link to my channel on that day!!! Might even make some real time attempts depending on how I'm feeling with the 2nd Segment!!! :D

Sound interesting ;) @Cpadolf: nice going as always Cpadolf! I'm really curious about the final time when you finish your TAS :D:D:D

I've noticed another difference between the first movie kriole posted and the other two: the first movie was made in Snes9x 1.43 v15 (or an older version), the same emulator Cpadolf and Hoandjzj are using to TAS (or an older version), and the last two were made in Snes9x 1.43 v17, so you can't play them using the same emulator you're using to TAS. Isn't that the problem?
