With the romcount in the 1,900s right now, you'd really think there'd be more games to plan for. Anyway. Jeez, I go away for awhile and a mini-boom of VBA activity happens. Listing all that I'd personally like to see. As usual, add on, get ideas from, etc, etc, etc. Advance Wars 1 & 2 CV: Circle/Harmony/Aria Sonic Advance series Super Robot Wars series (Blah, bite me, I know they're painfully long. Ah well.) Shining Soul 1 & 2 (Mmm. Options.) DBZ: Legacy of Goku series (*hiss* ... But it'd be a fairly easy set of runs... the games aren't hard. The forced levelling might make them pointless to run, though) Rockman. Zero and EXE series. Well... maybe EXE 1 or 2. 3's long as sin, 4 would be pointless since you need to beat it three times to get to Forte and such, and 5 is just... pain personified. Personally? I'd like seeing ANY of the GBA Tony Hawk games get taken up. I could never ever ever get used to the fixed camera in those things... Denki Blocks (It's a good game, dammit...) Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission (I know both have topics, but... for the sake of the list...) Super Monkey Ball Jr. (I couldn't get a feel for non-analong SMB X.x) Boktai 1 & 2 Banjo Kazooie - Grunty's Revenge Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Sword of Mana Mr. Driller 2 (Fastest to the bottom wins? >>; Very quick movie if made) River City Ransom EX Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon (Haha, Hans is a bishie now) Mario vs Donkey Kong Sabre Wulf Astro Boy Desentsu no Stafi 3 (What system were 2 and 1 for again? >>;) TMNT 1 & 2 (Pointless? I found the games kinda boring, really...) Grand Theft Auto Advance (Dumb cops...) LoZ: The Minish Cap Metal Slug Advance (I'm amazed it still isn't getting delayed... c.c;) Shaman King: Master of Spirits (That was the sidescroller, right?) Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories Advance Guardian Heroes (Weird game...) Going through a list of all the games out, that's the best I could come up with. Any additions and such?

Hm, I mostly know about the remake games, like the Kirby's Adventure remake, the Pokemon Red/Blue remakes, and the Super Mario Advances... Wait, wasn't the new Double Dragon pretty good?

Has anyone here heard of Kuru Kuru Kururin and Kururin Paradise? They are these games where you have to maneuver this rotating stick through a series of levels without hitting the walls. I'd like to see a run of it, but I don't know who would want to make one.

lets see ...those i would like to see in that list are Advance Wars 1 & 2 ( seperating it from rest because its just that great ) LoZ: The Minish Cap Rockman. Zero and EXE series Grand Theft Auto Advance Banjo Kazooie Also not from that list : LoZ : Four Swords I'd also love to see how fast someone can beat the golden sun series but i guess thats pretty insane, since they are REALLY long Also the Metroid games and River City Ransom EX but they already have topics/being worked on

Rockman & Crystal (Battle Network Rockman Crystal), another game in the Zook series of pirate games...

How can you time attack Four Swords? Even with save/states, the game randomly generates levels. If you figure out the coding, it truly is random for some parts - you will never get a "same segment" twice...unless you have the luck of the Irish. Not to mention, what emus support the multi-player aspect? How would you do mutli-player time attack on GBA?

VBA can't emulate it, but there is link system support in an unofficial version of VBA that seems to work by letting an application start as the server, then multiple instances of VBA (possibly on different computers, I assume) can connect to that server and think they're linking with other GBA systems. But it would be difficult to record such a thing into a movie and allow it to play back - certainly possible, but the modifications required would be substantial. (How to represent playback, 4-way split-screen by emulating 4 GBA systems simultaneously? My computer can barely emulate 1 at a time.) (There is the single-player portion of Four Swords, but that is barely changed from the SNES version which is being worked on already.)

As far as GBA RPGs are concerned, Mario&Luigi would be nice to see. Probably the only traditional-style RPG that can be beaten without ever getting hit once... I also second KH: CoM....it has potential to be beaten even faster seeing as your capability to do damage to enemies doesn't depend on your level (other than in sense that higher level=more CP=more and better cards) and all enemy attacks can be avoided (meaning you can use all your levelups on CP and possibly some sleights depending on which ones turn out to be the most useful), meaning there's no need to level up, although on the other hand, you need to fight at least some random battles to get more map cards to open new rooms. In turn, you can make all these new rooms into moogle rooms, savepoints or sleeping darkness rooms, all of which are very small and quick to run through. Another thing that'll speed it up considerably is being able to skip all non-FMV cutscenes, making boss battles the only real time-consuming element in the game.

I'd like to see some of the 3D-esque GBA games run... Duke Nukem and Doom for example. Simply for the prettiness. :3 Oh, and being myself, I'd be interested in 'novelty' runs. Silent Scope, for example... it makes me wonder how fast you can complete a game like that, considering that with savestates, you could get instant-headshots on every enemy. The only time you'd need to pause, is waiting for ammunition to reload.

3D = pretty? What about Metroid? Castletroid? Rocktroid?

When every single tool-assisted run we've seen so far is 2D, yes, yes it is. :P Having three dimensions in a game would add a lot of complexity to a tool-assisted run... it'd naturally involve more precision. Many 2D platformers tend to be based on 'holding right' to get from point A to B, whereas 3D games would need a 'perfect path' in every corridor, much like playing a racing game.

Hmm. You might as well just download DdQ then. The segmented speedruns should be just as good as any time attack of the game, and it would spare you of having to watch a FPS with GBA quality.

Well, those supposed 3D games on GBA are pretty awful. I have checked Wolfenstein, Doom, Medal of Honor etc.. and that's awful. Personally, I would like to see a Tactics Ogre KoL walkthrough.

You can't improve on times for warioware, really... especially on stages that have background vocal music, as they force the stages to last for the full '5 seconds', even if you beat it in one second. Warioware, by definition, requires the very opposite of a speedrun... the point of the game is that there is no real end, and you have to try to last as long as possible. A 'level 999 on hard mode' run wouldn't be entertaining in the least, and a 'completed as quick as possible' would be nothing more than a walkthrough, as regular plays would last around the same time. It's like trying to time-attack tetris, it just doesn't work. ^^;

Because of the various road, now we can hope an entertaining run for super ghouls and ghost, IMO.
